It's actually worse than doing nothing.

It almost has bad has throwing a cup of water on it.

Zephyr would be better to clean.

Well, not when it's the very sticky stuff that's chemically bonded to the chips.

Or, you know, we end up having to manufacture replacement chips. We'll have Saryn act as the acid.

Yeah and circuit are often made of soft metal.

Changing the resistance will have multiple side-effect.

You blow off the gunk on the different part.

Corrosion is actually the sticky stuff we find sometime on these part and what we do is neutralise it then remove it gently.

Or you clean it off with alcohol if it looks possible that it'll restore the chip, which is slightly acidic.

Wich is used to decrease the acidity.

Just made some research.

But yes in that regard you can use a light acid to remove corrosion.

Quick solution that requier perfect execution to nulify the risk.

Yeah, alcohol can act as a base under some conditions too.

That said, I always think what you said wasn't the case because I always thought those corrosion products are neutral when in an aqueous state.

I have responded too quickly and didn't looked up the procedure.

Because acid is a big nono in general in the electronic domain.
