I was curious... I seem to hit 8 running servers on one box. The ninth, instance number 08 and above seem to get stuck on windows Caching...

Having said that, it looks like the the cached memory is around 10.8GB. COuld be an issue with my windows cache. I might have to play with it a bit.

Its not an issue with your system, 8 is the engine limit (try running a DXDiag scan, it should take a really long time, after killing all servers run it again, should be fast). It is possible to run more however, though id have to ask @[DE]maciejs if it is allowed. Looks to be working just fine for now. He hasn't responded in a while though (much needed vacation? :P)

That is a lot of players.... I'd love to get my vm in on the action but alas the ban keeps me from doing so. 

24 cores should handle more than the 4 I currently run. I've also got to get a setting file done properly for multiple game types. Something for the weekend I guess.

Hey guys, I've been away for a little bit, but just catching up. Will be back at the office tomorrow, so will try to see what's up with the crashes (most likely 'just' script errors). We used to have 8 instances limit (cache limitation) and unless someone modified it during my absence, it's still the max number of instances you can run (launcher actually limits it to 6).

What is peoples average ping to the dedicated servers? From what I've read some people here host them on VMs or even dedicated Windows servers so pings should really be fine but I myself did never experience a ping better than 70ms so I would really like to know average pings.

I'm living in western Germany so maybe there just wasn't any server around since usually I get 20-30ms to most European servers.

20-30 ms is already phenomenally good. Like, within the same city or even next door. 70 is going to be solid, anything under 150 is fine, and 200 could be better, but is usable.

I gotta say that the pings generally are higher then perceived this is due to the way the netcode of warframe is made, you actually gotta count perhaps 10/20 ping average off the ping there is mostly, to say tho I hope your experience is pretty good and flawless because we all are here for a better experience for everyone and not only for some stupid point counter, although it encourages us to make the best possible hosting tho.

In NA, west coast (california) to east coast (new york) is ~140, totally reasonable for an upper limit for in-region play.

If people from EU have been trying to host in NA, I haven't encountered those servers yet o.O

I Don't even know if this is actually possible there is an entry in the DS.cfg file but I think the server just does this when it fist starts and gives you the best region based on the region servers.

Had a crash WAR-1202253. It included a DXDiag timeout (what looked to be a separate error after an Assertion Failure). I tried dxdiag and it is indeed very slow, but finishes after about a minute. Is this timeout in the game or only for the crash handling?

So i encountered this when shutting down a server with players in it (Q): sometimes after "ok to exit" the server starts spot-loading a bunch of stuff that was just cleared from memory, before clearing it again and exiting.
