Grineer Caches

Question

I've read that Loot Detector, Thief's Wit, and Animal Instinct help detect Resource Caches.

I use Thief's Wit most of the time. However, I've never once noticed a map marker for a Resource Cache while playing in the Void. I've never noticed a map marker for any Cache, anywhere, for that matter.

Is this a myth or misinformation? Or am I looking for something other than one of the "boxed" equals signs? The wiki reports they use the same symbol, but, again—I've never noticed.

I'm asking because I have to find three Grineer loot Caches, while I've never, ever seen one.

Loot detection mods absolutely do show caches.  They show up with the regular box icon.  Unfortunately the vertical range of these mods is much, much smaller than their horizontal range.  Try jumping up into high and down into low places and watching the radar.  It also helps to bring an vacuum and ignis or long range melee to help break every container in the map.  Anything box icon you can't break or vacuum is either a cache, an ayatan sculpture, or a syndicate medallion.

IIRC, the three cache junction task is specifically on Uranus, which is notoriously hard to find things like caches and syndicate medallions in.  You might find this video helpful, Uranus caches start at 4:33.

lol

Resource caches are marked as lootable crates, chests (rectangular shaped marker) 1byIPxF.png. More than that, you'll be able to hear some kind of hum if you'll be near one of those caches.
