Mastery Rank On Veiled Mods

there was a glitch preventing veiled mods from staying equipped. after this last hotfix veiled mods that have been re-rolled now have a mastery rank. i cannot even unlock some of my mods should i choose to re-roll them. mods that i spent plat to buy. i can only hope that this is a failed attempt to fix the original issue. if it was intentional i cant think of anything that could be dumber, especially without offering compensation to me and others that are now unable to use mods we paid for.

There was always a mastery rank on it.. and why would DE compensate you did they tell you to buy i? no you choose to buy it and nobody  else is to blame but yourself.  If you find it dumb raise your mastery rank or re roll it for something else you might be able to use.

Riven mods are suppose to be better the higher the mastery rank so really its not dumb at all. It makes sense the higher mr the higher the stats

that is not my point obviously you are unable to read properly. veiled mods did NOT have mastery ranks, and WERE able to be equipped and unveiled. veiled mods are now showing mastery ranks and CANNOT be equipped to unveil. this should be reversed or compensated. it was changed without even being put in the logs of the hotfix. there was no warning or reason given. please pay attention to what people say before criticizing them in the future.

anybody who spent platinum on mods that could be treated in a certain way and now cannot be were completely ripped off.

From what i remember, once you re roll the mods they have the mastery rank there. The only moment they dont have it is for the first time. Also from my knowledge, DE is not selling those mods for platinum so there is nothing that you can complain to them in that regard.

Unless it's mastery rank mysteriously changed, you wouldn't have been able to use it after you unveiled it anyways. The MR rank, weapon type, and number of rerolls are all shown on rerolled, veiled mods to prevent confusion and scamming, and they're only there after you've unveiled it the first time, so you had to have already known that it was too high of a MR rank for you.

And it is in the patch notes of 19.0.4

they allowed the mods to be re-rolled no matter the mastery or hidden mastery. then they made it so that they could not be. without informing anybody as to their intent, or the way that it was supposed to work before hand. they knew that people were selling and buying the mods for platinum, they obviously encouraged that immensely. therefore this is there responsibility there is no way around that and anybody that believes otherwise is delusional. its a sad attempt from DE to fix an issue without drawing attention to it and gain lots of plat at the same time. locking re-rolls behind mastery forces people to either spend even more time farming and using weapons/frames they dislike in an attempt to rank up, or to spend plat and buy those things.

being able to use it after unveiling isnt the issue. the issue here is that people who could unveil a mod and then sell it for its stats are now unable to do so. that was a HUGE part of the market and they completely locked it behind master without so much as a word of warning or explanation.

If I was mistaken I thought vieled mods did have mastery ranking. my point still stands DE didnt sell it or tell you to buy it why do you feel so special to deserve a compensation from them.

veiled mods may have had a hidden mastery, but they could still be equipped and rolled. this allowed people to sell them and make platinum, which directly encouraged the trade of riven mods on the market for obscene amounts. im not saying im the only one that this update is hurting. go look at the masses of posts about riven mods un-equipping themselves for no reason. every single person that posted there is now faced with this exact problem. DE tried to solve it underhandedly without even putting notes about it in the hotfix. its sad to be completely honest.

- Riven Mods now have more information available after they have been Cycled and Unveiled so more can be deduced at a glance. This includes Mastery Rank and Item compatibility, as well as how many Cycles have occurred of a given Riven.

From the 19.0.4 patch notes.

it was in the .4 patch notes, but the mastery rank part wasnt true, it didnt display and DE never addressed it. people re-rolled their mods and were then locked out of ever doing it again, with no reason explained or apparent. then in this patch, they changed it yet again without saying anything.

their original intention was obviously for riven mods to be re-roll-able by anybody. when they added the little re-roll symbol to the mods, they created a new value for riven mods only, that would display in a new location and have no real impact on gameplay. when they decided to display mastery rank, they put it there the same way but because it is a value that DOES impact gameplay people were locked out of rolling mods.

Well, ok let say you are right, even with that your mod is not going anywhere, just grind, get the MR needed for it and you can use it again.

From what im reading, you are complaining cuz they locked you out to get profit, Im sorry but tbh thats not really their problem.

the truth is, this update didnt hit me very hard. i can get the mastery i need to use all my mods within a day or two, mastery is just something that ive never cared about having because i dislike playing with weapons/frames i dont enjoy. i also didnt lose any profit in this update as all my mods were being used for personal re-rolls. the thing that is pissing me off is the fact that out of all the things they could fix with these mods, they arguably found a way to make them worse and didnt even bother working on the other issues which they could have in these hotfixes. they also failed to verbally address any of these issues, instead failing to put it into a hotfix once, then doing it again in a way that just makes things more annoying for people.

I agree with this. I don't think it's fair to MR lock the unveiling process. It's a bit ridiculous to award them for completing a quest and for doing sorties and not even allow people to see what's in them since neither sorties or TWW are MR locked.

It's not unfair to anyone if people can unveil them before they can use them but for those that own veiled mods it feels unfair to get an award you can't do anything with.

I also have an issue with this. 2 days ago i got a riven mod from a sortie and tried to unveil it, but there was the un-equiping bug and  i couldnt complete the challenge. Today, i was so happy to see that they patched it, but when i tried to equip it, it said that i didnt have enough mastery rank (remember, it wasnt even re-rolled, i got it from a sortie and didnt even open it for the first time) and this is really bugging me, because i cant do anything with that riven mod now, since i cant unveil it and sell it for a decent amount of plat. I just hope DE fixes this, because i find it really fun to get a riven mod, completing the challenge and then be able to sell it so i cna have plat to buy more stuff, and have more fun, and so on.

Actually TWW is mastery locked: MR5 is required to do it, as well as completing everything up to the Sedna junction which IIRC requires making an MR5 weapon.

And since Sorties are locked behind completing TWW, Sorties are also MR locked to MR5.

And its not like its that hard to get to the ranks that the Riven mods require.
