Atlas not tanky

The trick to playing Atlas is not to tank as yourself, but instead let the two rock bros tank while you do all the damage.

Also, you're invincible during your landslide animation. If you build enough efficiency, landslide is essentially "pre-nerf" hysteria minus the life steal.

Im not sure if its me, but atlas having the third (i think) highest base armour (400) seem really squishy. Even putting steel fibre on i feel that my frost prime can tank better.

More than a tank he's a bruiser like Rhino. He doesn't have abilities that support tank gameplay unlike Inaros, valkitty and dracoframe

You mean Dwayne and Johnson? I would never let them get hurt in my place, those guys Rock!

Yes I actually named them that.

Your first, second and third line of defense is mobility. The enemy AI aim is lowered by your speed. The purpose of being tanky is to give you more breathing room, not to just facetank with impunity. Atlas can not be knocked down or staggered when he's on the ground and his 1st ability makes him very fast and staggers enemies. The rumblers attract enemy fire.

Atlas is plenty tanky.

There's multiple ways to build Atlas based on your playstyle. I rarely see him used as a summoner nowadays. I usually play him as a DPS that doubles as CC frame with his augment. If you build straight Efficiency + STR, your combo window will be big enough to hit 50-100k per punch based on your melee weapon.

Atlas in a squad is a support tank like Rhino not facetank like Chroma or Wukong that absorb damage from high level enemy. You use your rock walls and golems to support team mates and protect objectives. Your armor protect against one shots and reduces the damage you take.

in terms of outright durability, he's not. he's not a Tank, he's a Brawler. the difference is that a Brawler has to keep attacking to gain their high durability, and this is the case with Landslide. you're literally invincible during the animation, and if you can keep spamming it, you can move between targets without taking a scratch. if you're under fire, you need to deploy the Rumblers to take their attention away.

Atlas is a seriously powerful frame if you take advantage of his 1 and 4.

700 is currently the highest with Valkyr Prime, Atlas mainly lacks a tank ability.

They could maybe rework the pvp augment (Rumbled) for it to work in pve and essentially act like an Iron Skin for Atlas.
