When you have more that 100% status EX: 150%

allow 100 to proc one status and 50% to proc 2 per hit.

I.E. Make it work like multi shot a bit.

I'd rather status (Over 100%) do something different than just to status more, because we already have status that is applied as really fast rates.

This is also a bad idea for weapons that only need to status a single time to get the best out of it, like Magnetic and Viral, they would be left in the dust by other damage types whos proc is more useful for quick application of status. (Corrosive, Slash, etc)

The main problem with that is the fact quite a few status procs have no effect on re-application.

or just make em status explosions, huge aoe burst of damage/guarenteed status proc on all enemies hit

How about something like this:

120% status chance

Viral + Radiation

100% chance to proc, with 20% chance to proc a primary element (Fire, Ice, Electricity, Toxin)

Maybe weapon with more than 100% (100+x) status:

1 guaranteed status proc,

x % chance to buff that status,(eg. Radiation lasts 50% longer, corrosive removes 50% armor instead of 25%)
