Accounts were rolled back by 20 hours today. The cause of the database error is thought to be a Corpus attack and we are continuing to investigate... Oh wait. It was my fault. Here are the details:

-Founders/Platinum purchases are NOT affected.

-Accounts made after Dec 21, 22:46 will need a password reset (they will be notified by email).

-If you logged in during this time please accept my apologies along with some Credits and Platinum for your troubles.

So what happened?

I screwed up. I was logged into the production database and boosting credits for people that were affected by the ‘reset credits’ bug. I was tired and dumb but I decided I was going to fix that bug, right then and there. I just needed a local copy of the database to test. But I didn’t log out first. So, when I created my test account database I overwrote the whole production database. &%#@!

I'm sorry for the inconvenience and we are taking steps to ensure that this does not happen again.

And this is why I love you guys at DE. You guys are honest, blunt, right to the point and actually inform us when things happen.

Glad all is fixed. See ya' on the field Steve.

Honestly, I'm impressed. I was irritated at the loss of levels and newly acquired gear till I saw the money you gave me.

I'm happy and content, and very thankful. Xmas came early!

Also a commendment on being honest, even in beta's many companies are not straight forward. We much rather know what happened, then see threads or posts about what ppl think happened.

Well, credits are all well and good, to err is human etc. and I appreciate the compensation-- BUT HOW ABOUT YOU GIVE ME MY CRONUS SWORD BACK?! I'll never find that damn thing's schematic again!

It was so beautiful... And now I also have to level Ash again because I leveled him to like rank 9 within those 20 hours.

Oh well, here we go again.

-EDIT- Oh look, the 60,000 some odd credits I had left over after I bought the weapons I lost just disappeared too!

I must say I have never come across any other company that will own up to ajd explain mistakes to the members of a game, never mind giving them both in game and purchaseable currency as compensation for down time

I can honestly say I like the way you guys do things ^^

  • 3 weeks later...
  • 2 weeks later...

A dev that admits to their mistakes and then attempts to make things right with compensation worth actual money? I'm... still alive, right? This is all still real?

Heh, now I want to upgrade to the next founder level when my next paycheck arrives. There is honestly now no other game I am happier to support. LoL and its forums and its community in general had soured me to this whole process. Dev posting and general transparency for future plans and game direction there are virtually 0. When a dev DOES post something there are literally 2-3 PAGES of people posting to reflect their surprise at the event...

It really, REALLY makes a difference when it feels like you guys actually give a S#&$. You don't even have to accept any ideas I put forward- just the fact that I know, from the source, what is going on... Total breath of fresh air.

Thank you. Honestly, sincerely, thank you.

Now... TAKE MY MONEY!!! And please keep up the awesome work!

Gentlemen, necroposting does not help. The current patch notes have been added to the bottom of the 5.4 Update.

Hotfixes since 5.4.1

-Fixes to Mod drop levels / rarity.

-Crash fixes during update.

-Rank exploits fixed.

-Fixed a few cases where setting wouldn't save (illegal characters). Sorry but this one resets your settings.

-Balance changes for out of control critical damage Mods.

And now, please, stop responding here. You can discuss in the patchnotes of 5.4 just fine. None of this has anything to do with an outage over a month ago.
