Overlay map is huge and makes aiming difficult

The map's maximum size is far too big, which results in parts of it blocking my crosshairs, while also making it harder to see enemies on my screen.
It also resets to the top-left map after 5 waves of defense, a round of interception, death in the arena, and a few other conditions.

Ideally I'd like to have the Prefer Overlay Map option replaced by a few options:

  • map size (controls amount of screen space used)
  • map scale (controls zoom level)
  • map position (e.g. top-left for the default view)
  • map opacity (I'd prefer a fainter map sometimes)

I love having a large map, but it needs to have a max size so it doesn't make aiming difficult.

This map is great:

This one, less so:

-snap-

For what it's worth, you can lock the rotation of the map, but I find that more difficult for me.

I don't think it has been changed very much (aside from new icons) and it is starting to show its age.

Current bugs that I'm aware of:

  • map still resets to the top-left after death in arena
  • map still resets to the top-left while standing at extraction
  • next waypoint or extermination target can be off the screen since the map is unbounded
  • sections of the map reset and no longer show you as exploring them

Yeah, locked rotation reduces the visual noise since fewer lines are moving when you turn.

Strongly prefer it without locked rotation though - I'm bad at navigating with locked rotation.
