Landing Crafts 2.0: Improved Landing Crafts

Some people like using different landing crafts for the cosmetics, but they often do not like the Air Support when they want to use it, or find the Air Support underwhelming or useless at higher levels. Here is a possible rework to landing craft with some additions and upgrades.

First off, we have the ability to choose landing craft and appearance (in the same equip screen we have now, no need to change it), as well as a simplified appearance screen for easier customization.

Second is one of the more important features: The ability to choose which air support you want to use. The way this would work is air supports would be unlocked with landing crafts when they are built or bought. This way people are not limited by which Landing craft they choose for Fashionframe purposes. 

Then we have the upgrades section. They are not like mod upgrades, they are cores for the craft with different properties: Speed, Offence, Defense, and side-grades. Lets do an example with the Liset. They are either unlocked with the Air Support or can be purchased with credits.

Liset Upgrades:

 


The base Air Support for the Liset is Override, which hacks consoles, turns off alarms, and pauses countdowns in Rescue/Spy missions. 

Speed Cores for Liset:
Recovery: Halves Air Support recharge time, 25% reduction to effects of air support (amount of time active)

Duplex Armament: Doubles the time of the Air Support activity, but increases recharge by 5 minutes. 

Offence Cores for Liset:

Radio Silence: Decreases enemy alert radius by 60%

Defense Cores for Liset:
Silent Mask: Silences weapons of user for duration of Air support

Program Override: Summons a friendly Moa or Roller, depending on faction faced. Will Summon a Moa on Infested missions

Side-Grade Cores on Liset:
Bursa Impact: Summons a friendly Isolator Bursa for 30 seconds. Does not hack alarms with this upgrade. Timer can only be doubled to 60 seconds. 

Shrill: Alarms deafen enemies like Banshee's silence, leaving them vulnerable to finishers for duration of ability, requires alarms to already be active, will hack alarms after it is over but enemies will remain alert. 

Radar: Reveals all enemies in alerted area. 




Mantis and other Ship Upgrades:

 

 


Minor change that might be needed: Make capsules decay if not used for over 20 minutes to avoid them being used to block enemies in defense missions.
Speed Cores for Mantis:
Recovery: Halves recharge time, but decreases charges from 20 to 10.

Duplex Armament: Increases charges from 20 to 50, but also increases recharge time from 10 -> 20 minutes.

Offence Cores for Mantis:
Tenno's Own: Poisons enemies within a 5m Radius. (dis my air support >:\ )

Healing Aura: Allies (Companions/NPC/Other players) are healed when within 15m of activation.

 

 

 

Defense Cores for Mantis:
Repulse: Knocks down enemies when used

Electrify: Casts the chain lightning effect and 1000 electric damage on activation, 15s cooldown on this ability.

Side-Grade Cores for Mantis:
Ammo Tower: Changes tower to Ammo tower, 100 ammo restored per weapon.

Energy Tower: Changes tower to Energy Tower. 100 energy restored per use.

Shield Tower: Changes tower to shield tower. Adds 100 over shields per use.

 

 


Scimitar Upgrades:

 


Change to Ability: Damage dealt from airstrike is calculated by the level of the enemy, but will do no more than half hp down/or just take 1/4-1/2 enemy health. When using air support target area will be highlighted. Not sure if range would be needed to be decreased by a bit, but should not be powerful enough to wipe out an entire defense wave. Even if all four people in a squad used it it should only cover about half the battlefield.


Speed Cores for Scimitar:
Recovery: Reduces recharge time to 5 minutes. Also reduces airstrike area by 25%.

Duplex Armament: 3 consecutive airstrikes, each one will do 25% last damage than the first. AS 1: 100% damage. AS 2: 75% damage etc. Increases recharge time to 15 minutes. (possibly 20)

Offence Cores for Scimitar:
Puncture Shells: Deals puncture proc for 15s on enemies struck.

Speed Strike: Gives user and allies a 15% speed boost for 10 seconds.

Defense Cores for Scimitar:
Armor Strike: Allies caught in airstrike gain a strong armor buff for 15s

Side-Grade Cores for Scimitar:
Napalm Strike: Replaces airstrike with Napalm that stays on ground for 5 seconds. Less damage but enemies are put on fire and take fire damage.

Earthshatter Rounds: Deals very little damage, but all enemies in impact area are knocked down for 8 seconds.

Minelayer: Explosives are placed in ground, only detonate when enemy walks over area. Not compatible with Duplex Armament. Will auto detonate if not stepped on after 5 minutes or recast of Airstrike. 
 



Xiphos Upgrades:

 


Changes: Xiphos Turret scales with level now.

Speed Cores for Xiphos: 
Recovery: Reduces recharge time on ability to 5 minutes.

Duplex Armament: Calls down two turrets that deal 20% less damage than normal turrets. Increases recharge to 15 Minutes.

Offense Cores for Xiphos:
Acid Cannon: Cannon deals 80% decreased damage and 60% reduced firerate, but deals corrosive damage to strip armor.

Tracer Rounds: Enemies hit will be marked and receive bonus damage.

Defense Cores for Xiphos: 
Self Destruct: When reaching 0 hp turret explodes dealing 100 * its level damage to enemies within 5 meters.

Knockback: When enemies get close, turret will switch to impact damage rounds.

Side-Grade Cores for Xiphos: 
Healing Turret: Turret deals no damage, HP scales by level, and focuses on healing players and allies. 

Rampart: 1 use per mission, summons Tenno Rampart.

Defender Turret: Prioritizes shooting down Rockets, mines, Nullifier bubbles, and support ospreys. 

Rocket Turret: Slow firing turret that shoots rockets.

I would love to see how DE would implement this. I too want more...use from the landing crafts.  Not to mention Ordis gets to have a lot of fun since he is still a blood thirsty mercenary.
