Video Driver Crash?

I'm not exactly sure what's going on, but occasionally while in game my screen will completely flash a single color-usually a light brown or teal-and then nothing appears on screen but the game is still running. And when I say nothing appears on screen, I'm looking at my desktop wallpaper while supposedly still in game. I think that means something with the window is messed up. Some additional information that might help: I run 2-way SLI and 2 TVs as monitors, dual boot Win10 (the OS I play on) and Linux Mint (if that matters) on separate SSDs.

It happened for a second time already within 1 hour. That's pretty bad.

i remember this used to happen when i got this laptop over 2 ish years ago now it dosent happen ive done nothing to fix it i just lowerd my settings from Medium-High at 40-60 FPS to Low-Medium at 60-70 ish FPS

I used to have this problem when the game first came out. I took a long break and started playing again this year. This is a different problem from that. Or maybe that problem has morphed into this one? Either way, all the game requires is to close it and relaunch for it to work again. No PC restart.
