It's not a bug, they want people in a Moon clan to farm for 500,000 mutagen samples, which means 500 mutagen samples per person (although DE assumes everyone is active AND contributing, which is never the case).

They've said during a stream or two and here on the forums that they don't want all Clan-researched gear to be "easy".

It's still hell. DE pls. ;-;

orokin darelect defense.

getting like 300 samples a game....

The new Taxon sentinel in my opinion is very well executed. Its a bit low on survivability stats, but then again it isn't meant to be an endgame powerhouse (necessarily). The shielding ability also suits early starmap play very well, as shields start to lose effectiveness when you progress further. I also love the model :P

What truly makes the thing useful however, is its weapon. Even as is its a decent mini-cc, and when you add some mods to capitalize on that (firerate, reload speed, punch through) it can slow down groups semi-effectively. Its sure to be a help in the beginning of a Tenno's career.

I like the new sentinel...but PLEASE PLEASE since its supposed to be a tenno's FIRST companion....both the weapon AND the sentinel should have SOME normal polarities....new players wont have the mods true....but nor should they need to forma it if they already have high cost mods...us vets can afford it..to an extent...but NO weapon should NOT have any polarites whatsoever...every weapon/sent should have at least a V polarity....

Which is certainly possible if you are using boosters and looter warframes in specialized teams. In fact, you can get more if you are willing to do more than 40 waves or are particularly lucky with drops. Of course, that is only if you get resource drop and double boosters on-top of using Looters like Nekros using Desecrate and Pilfering Hydroid on each enemy. One shouldn't look down on someone for basically buying into their resources versus working for them like players who already had enough from normal play; but also shouldn't treat others poorly for not buying their 'luck' versus hard work. The cost is excessive even if it was made simply because some players already had the resources required and it was to act as a sink for them, I think most players can agree on that more or less.

On topic, I am glad the Taxon has been added and hope it will be a good addition to especially early Tenno arsenals. The new skins for starter gear seem nice and Acolytes have been making the rounds for players who weren't around during their two previous appearances to get a chance at their rare mods. I think the update has worked out so far.

the ENTIRE POINT

was to get your CLAN involved in a TEAM of players to do the WORK

Smartly: not willy nilly

get you a 4 man group built to ODD

make between teh 4 of you a THOUSAN-ISH muts a game of 40 waves...

I am afraid you are missing the real point, which is they and several other items including the Sibear previously and Vauban prime's original cost among others were designed to drain existing stockpiles. Making players work together is a fine goal, but resource sinks without in-universe reason - like say Balor Fomorians - is not a particularly good way of trying to force behavior that either exists or does not based on the community itself and not by deliberately making costs higher than average. And you are quite incorrect about the amount of samples obtainable without both boosters and looters in an ODD, I should know having run more than my fair share. While it is possible to get a hefty amount, with investment of time, energy, and team composition, its well under even 300 mutagen samples - think almost 100 if you are using very specialized teams - with buying drop chance and drop rate boosters in addition to using looters (and smeeta) you can potentially get enough in a few runs for small clans; but it is quite silly to expect the normal player to have both the resources, time, and platinum needed to achieve that more or less high level haul. For instance, say you are a player playing alone since Derelicts are not random and require invites and keys and such; your haul without looters like Nekros and boosters will be between 19-21 give or take - this is easily repeatable - and that is for a 40 minute/wave run.

But you have answered that you find the cost well within your limits, which is fine of course; I covered it for my clan as well. The difference I believe, is that I understand that not everyone has the gear, time, and runs derelict as much as I do. Its cool if you only run the missions with boosters and having teammates run specialists to get you the resource chances; but I would think that understanding that not every player has such is a key element of learning both empathy and humility. But really, such a discussion largely veers into off topic, and I would hate to clutter the thread further with my propensity to walls of text. Good luck in your missions.

Also need to report an error. My Skana is still on its legacy model despite it showing up on its updated model on the market. No idea why this is the case. I gained the skana before the update and changed one color on it, nothing else.

edit: It might be just the lighting playing tricks on me, but I'm not 100% sure if this is intentional or not.

Let's not forget now that the only thing that the Carrier is good for anymore is ammo

True, but also keep this in mind: if you're using a weapon that runs on rifle ammo, odds are good you don't need Ammo Case at all.  MAYBE with a few super-hungry weapons (Galaxion and...that's it?) but for the most part, the normal ammo pickups with universal vacuum will keep a Soma or Grakata firing near-constantly.

I guess if you're using something like a Kohm or such, Ammo Case really is critical, but for most weapons it isn't these days.  The real reason 9/15 of my loadouts are running Carrier Prime is for Sweeper Prime.  It's still the best sentinel weapon in the game for killing that lv100 Butcher that sneaks up behind you.

And as much as I am enjoying the Taxon so far, that's still true.  This little freeze ray is nice, but it can't hold a candle to Sweeper Prime.

You do know you can use sweeper prime on any sentinel, right? This applies to every sentinel weapon except deconstructor, which is restricted to helios.

Well first off i never said that carrier wasn't useful anymore, its just that he's not borderline essential anymore, I still use him when i need extra ammo, and secondly, you can equip any sentinel weapon to any sentinel, you don't need to have carrier prime actively equipped to have sweeper prime equipped
