'3x Combo Multiplier' Riven Mod Won't Unlock

Hi all, long-time lurker.

Scored a Shotgun Riven Mod a while ago, and either it won't unlock or I'm doing something wrong. The challenge says "Sustain a 3x combo multiplier for 30 seconds with an active pet equipped".

I'm using Ash Prime with Hek carrying the Riven, and Tonbo with Reach and Body Count to ensure I'm landing hits to maintain the combo. Pet of choice is Carrier Prime with Striker installed and Sweeper Prime equipped. (I assume 'active' means the companion has to have precepts installed that let it act in combat. Also, the wiki doesn't specify whether Sentinels fall under 'pet', and I don't have a Kubrow or Kavat.)

Having done a couple of solo runs on Hieracon to try to complete the challenge, my phone's timer says I've done it. But the mod won't unlock no matter how many times I run it. Is the challenge bugged? I've seen a few threads here with the same problem, so I'm hoping it's not just me doing it wrong.
