So about Steve's multicrew cruiseships

I personally really like these ideas alot. What it basically is is big ships that we can fly around in space.

The ship would have a crew; a pilot, gunners engineers and fighters to board other ships or repell invaders.

Imagine a naval Sea battle but with a Tenno cruiser against a Grineer galleon. Shooting guns and boarding in true scurvy piratestyle.

Would you support this new mode of presumably Clan-ships taking us into space for real? Maby even letting us launch Archwings or lisets from the hangarbay.

I for one give all my support and I hope They get a real team together and make this happen!

I just hope DE prioritizes real problems over flying a ship. Enemy scaling and taking a look at older systems should become a priority. It is getting kind of old when they keep adding to the broken foundation. And please the UI needs to be the #1 at the moment. UI is fixed :D

Honestly, it's kind of painful to hear someone get so...hyped over something without tempering their expectations. Hype leads to disappointment, disappointment leads to bitterness. Let alone the sweeping generalisations they're making about the whole thing. No, not everyone wants to pretend they're in the falcon. Not everyone will care for some conflict system, considering this is the same 'everyone can be involved' aspect that the whole Solar Rail thing aimed for, only to dissolve once the system ceased having any of the intended flexibility.

As others note, stacking on more new things on top of the numerous shaky broken things is just going to edge ever closer to that back breaking straw. Every new thing is another system that requires balancing considerations, integration difficulties, asset creation, reward motivation...Ambition may be a boon, or it may be what causes one to smash against the wall when one over shoots what they're capable of.

It's an interesting idea, sure...but every interesting idea is mired in all manner of pitfalls.

I think the lack of Dark Sector conflicts for almost 2.5 years is a real problem. It's a good chunk of game we're missing.

You cannot pretend fixing enemy armor scaling and older systems is going to require all the effort at the office and have the same impact as giving large structures such as Clans and Alliances goals to do -- which means more people playing regularly if they pull it off right (no major flaws in the system).

Seriously thou, idea is nice but, what does a big world do if there is nothing in it to do, i not just want more planets with the same missions over and over again.

As much as I want this new system... I have to agree with this. The existing systems need more attention to strenghten the base of what we have.

You still don't get it after they went out of their way to explain this?

No amount of programming Steve does will EVER go to the UI as we see it. The only thing he has to do is (let his piece of code) send and receive messages to and from the UI.

No amount of design (!!!) and development the UI guys do will EVER go into the game proper as game code. The only thing they have to do is send and receive messages to and from the game proper.

People in a studio are generally not working on a cross competence basis. You want people who are experts in their field. As creative director Steve might understand the intricacies of diverse competences, this doesn't mean he excels at them or even has an incline to get into them.

If you build a house, you really think the guy who wires the house is the same guy who sets up and implements the sanitation? That the people who build the walls will also paint them? No, you get specialists to do these jobs (if you care about them being done right).

Sorry bud, but it just doesn't work that way..

(and don't get me wrong please: as an interface developer myself Warframe's UI hurts in places I didn't know existed.)

I love this idea but if I understood it right, I'm screwed. As the only active person in my clan I would have to be the pilot and the gunner and every other job. It would be nice if we could use specters to do those jobs.

There may be Syndicate ships or smaller craft with 1-4 people i  them as well. I think Steve mentioned that in the stream.

But yes, the bigger ships will be for active clans I think.

I do have a work around game mode we can do by invite or pubs.

1. Form team.

2. Archwing to shipyard and board a ship. Steal ship.

3. Hoist Jolly Roger

4. Plunder and steal.

5. Set ship on self destruct, leave on Archwing.

6. Profit.

How about you look for a more active clan? A one person clan is not a clan, it's a solo player with stuff. Anything they add to this idea to cater to solo players will water the concept down for coop players.

Or I could just recruit more people. I'd rather not give up on the clan I made. Not only would that be a waste of time and resources but also the loss of one of the oldest clans.
