I honestly don't see how mid-mission element switching would make him more interesting. People would still set their element to cold, as you pointed out yourself. Ability to switch in a mission doesn't add anything except wasting an ability slot that he could use for something more useful, should a rework come about. People who don't use Cold will set it at the beginning and probably not change it from the kind they like. People who do use Cold won't care at all.

The only thing it would be is a gimmick.

Depends on how they implement it; ie, does the element of active abilities change when you shift elements? Ideally, if they were to do a full review, they would also add more secondary effects to the other abilities. Currently, Ward is the only ability that functions differently, based on element. The others mainly just utilize the innate characteristics of the element damage.

In general though, being able to switch elements in-mission would let you adjust for situation, role, and faction on the fly, as well as in reaction to who matchmaking groups you with, when playing with pugs. If I end up camping in Frost or Limbo bubbles, I would switch to poison for the reload speed. If I'm trying to feed Vex Armor, I might jump between electric and fire,

Correct, and that is Wukong, that is why he will be standing on a pile of dead Chromas/Inaroses/other underdogs in any tanking competition.

Tell that to my Chroma and many others my dear, Come back to me after you succesfully live trough lv 200+ enemies. You can't ask quality from something made in china afterall.

Any way you implement it, the ability sounds like a waste of space where something better could be added. Especially when there are ways to control element without sacrificing an ability slot.

Truth is, most people wouldn't switch elements. When someone picks something it's because they mostly like it more than other types. Yes, they provide different bonuses and it looks good from an objective point of view, but it wouldn't get utilized except by a tiny margin of people.

For balance and general use it would be better to give him an option in customization for element, and then give him an actually useful ability that contributes more than a gimmick most people wouldn't use.

200+ enemies

That's petty, even pre-nerf Trinity could tank 2K+ levels and she didn't have invulnerability like uncle Wu (and was actually more durable than Ice Chroma). I am not impressed.

Anyway, let's drop it already. If any fact denying Ice Chroma tank impersonator wants to prove their durability, I can invite them to duo Mithra with me on Wu. Whoever goes down first loses, no dirty tricks like Shadow Steps.

I'm game. I'll make sure to be very visible when my Chroma sends your wu back to chinaframe.

There were frames with passives even before passives were brought into the game, like Mesa or Excalibur.

Excalibur didn't get a passive until after Chroma's release. A better example would be Zephyr.

Which makes him superior to Chroma as a tank: if both frames receive a lethal hit, what happens? Chroma dies, Wukong lives. A living tank is better than the dead one, simple as that.

Apparently, you have not seen a pro Chroma. Pro Chromas don't die period.
