getting annoyed with merging threads losing my replies

Since this got moved into feedback I'll go ahead and supply a suggestion.  

If at all possible please have merged threads redirect to their new destination rather than attempting to post a reply that was written after a merge to the original thread.

This has happened to me twice. Really getting pissed off about it too when I am trying to start up discussions about specific things and it just gets shoved into a 40+ page megathread and gets lost in the complaints of others.
