-Oni-Bushido-
I've heard that that is the maximum capacity right now, although I'm still on 48; And the melee rivens coming up soon I'm assuming we will have that number increased, or maybe will it take a different counter? anyway, there are far more melee weapons than primaries and secondaries all together ( including variants which will count as 1 weapon). what are your thoughts? should it be a different "rivens section" or should the regular riven capacity by increased? Hixlysss
The way it's worded in the workshop post is that DE would like to increase the riven cap, how ever it is currently there because Riven's are data heavy, they are the largest thing to store on servers(larger than warframes or weapons) and because of such we have the 60 cap. Also in their words, they want us to choose. They want players to pick and choose their favorite weapons and only keep rivens for those weapons, essentially. Yep pretty much this ^ it will cost a lot of data and could fry the servers, that's why it's limited.
Rolunde
Yes... and they have been telling us how "data heavy" rivens are since they first put the Rifle Rivens in-game. And then added Shotgun rivens. And then Secondary rivens. And we're getting Melee rivens. I know that opinions will vary, but I don't really feel the "need" for Melee rivens. So I'd gladly not have them added to the game and use that data space for other things. Or even just to save DE from shouldering the burden of that heavy amount of extra data that they'd be on top of what we already have. The existence of the rivens aren't what is causing them to be data heavy, its storing the data on the ones you own heavily increasing the data of your profile they have to manage... hence the cap. Rolunde
Sure, be that the case, I'd gladly pay DE for more Riven slots. There's not much Fashion Frame left for me to burn Plat on, so it'd be a nice way to give it back to them. ;-) A bit off topic but I want more Loadout slots too... heh. Cheers! ~R~
(PSN)robotwars7
i doubt De would let Melee Rivens be released if they haven't found a way to increase the cap. I think 90 or 100 is generous enough, considering how many weapons are in the game, you'd still have to choose which weapons you want to have a Riven for.
