So, i grew out of tonkor a while back, but my fave gun, like many people, was synoid simulor, as it was great for crowd control and killing up to lvl 100s pretty easily. Now, i got my bows, or tigris or vaykor hek and other stuff to kill high lvl enemies now, and ignis for all lower lvl stuff, but what can i use to replace the simulor when doing like, a grineer survial for like an hour, where you get sortie lvl enemies in big numbers. I know other stuff i have can kill them, but im not a fan of shottys or bows or anything, and definitely not launchers. Basically, what is a good simulor replacement?

I perfer shotguns or bows. Cause I like single target weapons (snipers as well). I never really liked simulor, and tbh, there isn't really a replacement. When the original first came out, it was one of a kind. One of the first weapons to ever do what it did. There isn't really another true cc + damage weapon like it. Most, if not all, other weapons are single target or explosive. I hate explosive weapons cause I find them incredibly slow and boring as well as self damage being a pain. So I stick with shotguns and bows. Rifles aren't powerful enough for me to like them. Except in low level.

dear god. Im just saying that if you can clear a map easily with no repercussions with melee, then why not primaries? they nerf the only primaries that (sort of) could do that. You say mindless gameplay, but thats what makes efficient grinding. Running around having to aim to kill enemies or dying because of self damage DRASTICALLY increases grinding time. Ive gotten tired of warframe, and I dont feel any joy anymore with using weapons that "require skill". I simply want to go into a mission, and get it done. What they have done is make it to where you can sit still and spam fire button, or spam melee, to just being able to spam melee.

it's not, though

It is, though.

The DPS has been lowered followed the patch, the damage output overall is lower than it was, they even refunded the formas the players have invested as a way of saying sorry for the nerf. It is just blatant dishonesty to call this anything but a nerf.

I'm not surprised you consoles are so salty post nerf. I mean, with that weird thing you use to play games, instead of proper K+M... How can you possibly aim with that?

Jokes aside, there is nothing as brainless and deadly as Simulor. Maybe Amprex with good riven in hands of strong buffer.

Atomos is the perfect gun for you (to learn how to play the game and choosing what you like rather than a "the best\lamer" weapon)

Probably best to not post this type of thread on an opinion-based general discussion forum then.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The Players Helping Players section would have been a better idea.

Sounds like your 'perfect weapon' is going to be your credit card. Just buy plat. Heck, you don't even need to log in any more (because, you know, that's too hard) ! A Winner Is You!

This post gave me cancer.

Most of the changes DE have been making are aimed at getting people to actually interact and play the game rather than standing around in Akkad. If you don't want to have to aim in a 3rd-person shooter there's always candy crush...

Hey bro, remember this:

Players gravitate towards a meta which allows them to skip playing the game and go direct to receiving rewards.

Left to their own devices, players would turn Warframe into a slot machine where every ten times you pull the lever, the machine spits out a Prime part.

I have long been of the opinion that Warframe needs to be made a damn sight more challenging in its mechanics, just to combat that kind of tendency. Bring back the tactical shooter. Emphasis stealth, maneuver, and positioning. Require some degree of skill.

What sounds cooler?

The Tenno are dangerous because of their inhuman tenacity, agility, and lifetimes of experience and training in every weapon, allied with their reality bending Void talents.

The Tenno are dangerous because they have the Synoid Simulor and Tonkor.

Yep, and trust me, I'm very aware. Cheese is the name of the game these days, and hence why I generally dislike "high level" content because it only encourages this lazy, cheesey gameplay. Been playing since U7 and I miss the days where sneaking around and using tactics was the thing. I too wish there were more incentive to play like that again.

Oh mang. Imagine if they flattened scaling, reworked damage, emphasised stealth, made it so that the gap in destructive power between a low level Tenno and a high level Tenno was not so high, got rid of the idea that endless mission scaling was how the game is 'supposed' to work, and made it so that, on average, the current difficulty of the second Sortie mission was the 'true' difficulty of the game, made it so that missions had multiple objectives, that the objective for baseline success was not too hard to achieve but that the extra objectives really required you to know what you were doing, tied the bonus rewards to achieving above and beyond the bare minimum, and ruthlessly nerfed cheese.

You freely admit you want mindless non-gameplay, and you expect people not to give you attitude? If you're going to be that nonchalant about this game's balance, you should really chill. You've been given some good suggestions already.

  • Put Split Chamber on your Synoid Simulor. This would have been a waste, before, but not now. Two shots for a full stack. The damage is lower, yes, but not by as much as you would think (maybe 1/8 lower, depending on how you use it?), and the status chance makes up for the lost damage.. The range is no longer enough to hit an entire room with every shot, but it's still a powerful weapon, and still the largest AoE launcher.
  • Get a Quanta Vandal. Even a regular Quanta, if you don't have the parts for the Vandal yet. It doesn't have the massive radius of old SySim, but it has the same damage, or double if you can be bothered to shoot the cubes, and it has always benefited from Split Chamber. Seriously underrated weapon.
  • Get a Torid. Mod for corrosive and blast, or radiation and viral, and watch it work.

All of these options deliver good damage and status output in large areas, and don't kill you.

There is...another option. Now, I know this is controversial, but you could always...take a break? Come back after a couple of updates and check out the new content? You don't have to grind on this game every day if you don't enjoy it. Burnout is not fun for anyone, in any pursuit.
