While I don't agree with your reasoning, I do think that we should have more Corpus units wielding secondaries. Currently, (and correct me if I'm wrong) we only have the Detron Crewmen and the Angstrum-wielding Combas/Scrambus, while the Grineer possess a variety of units with different types of weapons (Granted, they have a lot of reskins: Seekers, Shield Lancers, Drekar Seekers, etc.)

Since we already have the Sniper Crewmen wielding their Lankas, why not give the Nullifier some other weapon? A pistol would fit their (sorta) close range fighting style.

I think the idea with nullifiers was to make them more of a long-range support, to make up for the less effective Sniper crewmen, who even after the addition of Ratels, are still not much of a threat, they are woefully inaccurate compared to Ballistas. Nullifiers act like a moving fortress that can affect both close and long range targets, and when we're too close for their Lanka to be effective, they rely on other enemies and the support of their bubble.

hopefully when the corpus get expanded more, we'll see sub factions like AnyoCorp have Crewmen wielding Cestras and Spectras and the like.
