1) What the OP did is against forum rules, even if many may be happy to hear it. I'm not "fear mongering", I gave him an honest warning, that he might want to consider deletion if he cares about warning points. If he doesn't, that's up to him, he can do what he wants. I don't care. 

2) Don't be surprised if DE rolls back all the gorgon parts earned by doing this...

I don't mean to sound hostile, I mean to sound lighthearted, but I do think it is a little funny how vigorously some people are trying to defend this. It is funny to me, I don't really feel like hiding that. I don't feel disdain or hostility, but it does amuse me a bit, and if someone wants to use this information now that they have it, more power to them. Have fun with it. My post was originally just a light suggestion to help the OP avoid a possible warning point, then it seemed some people were quite hostile to me, because I was "ruining their fun" or something, not that anything I say will stop them from taking advantage of this if they want. And if I choose to stay light in my responses, that makes me hostile? Okay. That's not my intention, but believe what you wish about me. 

I just want people to be honest. Accept that in DE's eyes, this basically is an exploit, even if it doesn't fit a technical term. But so what? They aren't going to ban everyone who plays the Jackal, so have fun with it. I was just trying to give the OP a heads up, I don't care if people have fun with this.

You missed my point. The person you replied to delivered a message that wasn't really meant to be an attack, yet you specifically replied to them with

@above poster, try to split hairs about technical definitions all you want.

 

It just sounded to me a bit hostile, and they weren't one to instigate.

The quickest way to ensure something is fixed is to let as many people know about it as possible.  The morality of doing so is what is arguable, though not particularly relevant.

However, this isn't an exploit, this is just a drop table screwup, and more importantly there's not some secret forbidden technique to cause it, it just happens through normal play.  I fully expect the Gorgon parts to be rolled back, but I seriously doubt any actual punishments will occur.  I'll be holding onto my parts and wait and see what they do.

Also, Nobody likes a backseat moderator.  If you feel this breaks forum rules, report the thread to bring it to their attention, don't act like the moderators are some bogeymen hunting for misbehaving children.  The most likely thing that's going to happen is that the thread gets moved to the proper subforum, it's already all over the Subreddit so it's not like deleting it would accomplish literally anything, the damage is done.

This makes absolutely no sense.I repeat it again.Newer players farm jackal and when they come in the forums and read that its an exploit for doing it atm they get scared because maybe they believe your words and got a gorgon wraith part from it and think its an exploit what would be bannable.It just isnt one and the OP was just reporting a mistake in the loot table.You scare new players and people who believe you.

Well I wasn't trying to be hostile, I am a very tired after work and I am sure I am not coming across as diplomatic as I would like -- I apologize to the said poster if I came across to him that way. I think I am just a little frustrated because I posted a one line comment and after that it was people all telling me I am wrong about what an exploit is, because they probably feel I am ruining their fun. I just know what it's like to get a warning point that is total BS and I didn't want the OP to have to deal with that either. 

 

@K0bra I respect your opinion, but I really just don't think of this the same way. You and several others are taking one comment of mine more seriously than I meant it. I was not trying to "backseat moderate" as someone above you suggested. I was just trying to give the OP a quick heads up, when the thread was still young. I know what it's like to get BS warning points, I got one once for saying "nezha is a trap lol". I'm not trying to scare new players. I wasn't trying to suggest to people they would get banned for playing it... I don't think I said that and I really am sorry if anyone interpreted it that way, because I really don't want to give that impression. I just made a one line comment that maybe the OP might want to remove it. People warn others about things that could get them in trouble all the time, I wasn't trying to do, whatever it is you think I was trying to do. Sorry.

Exploit?? You don't need to kill him in a special way to manipulate his drop tables or something like that. You simply kill the boss... smh
