Ambulas has less shield, armor AND health than Bursa?

It was a sortie for a short while the day after the event started. Mesa or Nova made it a complete joke, even at sortie level. A couple seconds of Peacemaker, or one AntiMatter Drop, and Ambulas was down. The boss fight became nothing but waiting around for the Ambulas to be retrieved.

 

Ambulas needs a buff. As of right now it's just another MOA.

man I agree.

I mean the boss fight is quite challenging enough witht eh CORPUS SHIP

but it's not Ambulas...

All I want for this boss fight is an actual battle feel. All these phases when you have to "protect" (please, protect from what ?) the hacked Ambulas are too slow and nothing happens (except when the ship FINALLY decides to shoot...)

But does it take as much damage as the Bursa?

 

Both units doesn't seem to use their stats through the entire body and have damage reduction that isn't shown on their stats. Bursa has frontal damage reduction, Ambulas has damage reduction through the entire body and it will instead take more damage as you break parts of the armor apart by shooting each part repeatedly.

Ambulas isn't exactly a boss either, rather it's a mini boss, which can show up on regular levels on Pluto, and the boss fight itself is the method of bringing the enemy ship down by using the Ambulas.

If you balance a single Ambulas to be as strong as other bosses, then it's boss fight will become X times harder than the bosses you based their balance on.

 

One of the issues with boss with cheese invulnerability phases is that it either needs to be a massive bullet sponge which makes it unbeatable for newer players that might even have the appropriate gear to beat Pluto, or have players nerfed, yes, their problem isn't exactly being weak, it's certain abilities breaking the game in half unless we prevent them (which was the point of invulnerability phases from the start, making it so bosses aren't 1 shot, the result is that it ends up being it unfun for everything else that isn't cheese).

I think design wise, they wanted less of a focus on durability, since A: we don't like sponges, and B: with CP, it doesn't matter how much armour a target has, and anything can be cheesed with CC spam and Meta weapons. so at this point they may as well not bother with the invulnerable bosses and give us glass cannons that force the players to move around more or risk being hit with devastating attacks.  the new Ambulas appears to lean more in that direction, but we need more.

the Corpus should start making faster Proxies armed with unconventional weapons, not more armoured ones with an extra cannon or two because we know how to fight those. a fight against something with the same capabilities as a Warframe would make thing more interesting IMO.
