Expletive
I'm pretty sure it has something to do with the number of enemies, and probably a certain distance, but there's little logic to it that I can see. Sometimes I kill 3 enemies out of a large group, and sometimes it's completely crazy. In my most recent game, bladestormed into a group of enemies and teleported 21 separate times. I counted. It doesn't seem to be limited in number of targets like Mag or Ember, either.
Foxbyte
Its targeting seems to be wonky, and sometimes you fall through the floor and it cuts off... or you get stuck in Bladestorm mode, the camera zoomed out and melee/skills unavailable, but you can run around at almost twice normal speed. UkyoSonoda
The way I think it works is it will hit an enemy and then hit another within a small radius and repeat so until it either has no targets in applicable jump range or targets an enemy that was already hit by it. The fact you can't really control this bounce and can only guess at the range is cause of the randomness feeling on using it.
djjdiss
"How does blade storm work" You used the word "work" and "bladestorm" in the same sentence... *shivers* Let me lay it out for you, The first rule of bladestorm, is that we don't talk about bladestorm. DE secretly hates Ash. That is all.
