HAR1MAU
Foreword: I don't mean to hate on the developer who designed and made the description for this weapon.I'll just get straight to it: the In-Game description.REAPER PRIME is an ornamental scythe, with a blade forged from tempered rubidiumIt says that the blades are made from rubidium but that would be extremely unpractical to make a weapon from, because...1. Its a soft and ductile metal.2. Its highly reactive with group 1 elements (e.g. oxygen* and water)3. It will melt on Venus :D Seriously, it has a melting point of 39.31 °C.Although it gives a nice purple color to fireworks :D .Maybe a new (more logical) description for my newly buffed reaper prime? Plz :3 ?*Well I guess in the future they don't breathe air.(Ps. Kudos to Wikipedia) Edited July 20, 2013 by HAR1MAU
Notso
Where does it say it's pure rubidium and not a compound?

LazyKnight
I would rather they change it to " REAPER PRIME is an ornamental scythe, with a tempered alloy blade" would be a change that could be done in 20seconds. HAR1MAU
Where does it say it's pure rubidium and not a compound? It says "tempered rubidium". Not any other substance. Just rubidium that has been tempered.
Ceolrus
@Wolfstorm18 The Stalker drops the Hate. There is no Reaper normal (at the moment) and the Reaper Prime is Void missions only. The Hate (what you thought was a Reaper) is a great weapon and so is the Orthos. You are allowed your opinion of the weapons, however, simply because people prefer the damage of the Hate does not make them "noobz".
Notso
It says "tempered rubidium". Not any other substance. Just rubidium that has been tempered. Do you know what tempered means? Also, it doesn't say "pure rubidium" anywhere, so assuming it is pure rubidium is a leap of the imagination by any means. ValhaHazred
I think it's a case of spellcheck switching Rubedo for rubidium.

Its basically along the lines of tempering gold

NexionSE
well if it is tempered then they have made something to counter the weakness in it that probably make so it don't bend easy or melt early as it don't say pure the rest is just unknown. maybe some orokin special tech

LazyKnight
it´s funny how people discuss the melting point of an element in a game about space ninjas It is just funny because it is unclear if the person that made the description even looked at the metal they said was tempered. I am not interested in being a metallurgist but even I know enough to at least look it up to make sure it is possible. Xylia
I always thought that Rubidium = Some form of Rubedo, not the RL element Rubidium.

Numot
And how the space ninjas choose to use a weapons which is 'ornamental'. Gold trim. Deal with abuse of science, the fact that Nova is put forth as an 'anti-matter' frame is pretty laughable in itself.

She uses a very small amount at a time. We use anti-protons in high def medical imaging right now, it's not like a few particles are going to blow up a whole ship. Mhak
Keep in mind that we don't know the tempering process, OP. We can turn basically trash into supermetals with just our current technology, imagine what the Tenno know how to do to metal. They may have a tempering process that makes rubidium harder than steel, who knows. That said, if they did possess that technology, why they wouldn't use it on steel rather than rubidium to make super-ultra-mega steel remains a question to be answered. But this is the kind of stuff you run into when you think too much - a never ending chain of logical fallacy! Is that what you want, OP? TO NEVER BE SATISFIED?! Lesson learned - don't think, it only complicates things.
