Pardon the poor attempt at coming up with catchy title. With some nudging from those that I've delved with in past/current RPs, I've decided to take a tentative first attempt at a plot of my own. As it's my first go a such an endeavor, I'm not imagining it's going to be a blockbuster of a story in terms of size (aiming for something like a short story, but we'll see how it goes), but I hope the quality will be alright.

Disclaimers:

This is going to take place post-U18. Pre-U18 chars aren't barred, but know that running into said post-U18 chars and themes is going to be a thing. That being said, if you can make it work without breaking the plot and it's fun enough for all, by all means go for it.

Opening chars are going to be regulated to Tenno and known frames for now, simply because that's what the beginning is calling for. As the plot continues down the line there might be places for Grineer and Corpus to hop in, but for now please stick to the single faction.

I apologize beforehand if this seems pretty narrow, but please understand that I'm trying not to bite off more than I can chew. As things progress I might be willing to open things up a bit more but for now I'd like to keep the testbed as manageable as possible ^^;

Groundrules:

- Follow the set guidelines laid out here.

- No godmodding/OP actions. You can be as overkill to your own chars as you like, but outright no damage taking/1 shot unavoidable killing/maiming actions on other people's chars will have consequences.

- No metagaming. Allowances can and will be made to creative uses of in-lore actions provided it doesn't go into the first rule and it's deemed fun, but applying ooc things spoken privately or trying to change ic plot to your own taste is not allowed.

- Don't go crazy with the OC making. The max number of characters per person will likely change based on how many people participate, but for now let's just say 1-2. More may be allowed midway, but please ask beforehand. It's my first time at this, let's try to keep the headcount manageable until I'm ready ^^;

- keep your characters serious. This doesn't mean that your characters can't tell jokes or quips, but rather that your character has to be able to be taken seriously.

- Don't be rude to other players. Politeness both in and out of the RPing makes for a healthy and enjoyable environment.

It started out innocuous enough. A few crates of supplies missing during freight runs. A small corner of weapon caches disappearing from outlying outposts. A discrepancy on the amount of medical equipment that's on the shuttles and what's on the ledger. All of the two main factions' higher ups either ignored it or blamed it on machine error or incompetence. Then one day, that changed. In the middle of the night, under full surveillance, one of the shipyards on Ceres finds itself missing several entire fully completed fomorian cores fresh off the assembly line. At the same time, an entire supply train destined for the factories on Europa arrive half a day late, completely devoid of crew and more importantly its entire storage of oxium gone from the cargo holds.

Both the Grineer and Corpus are quick to blame the other as per the norm, and none of the known syndicates rise up to claim responsibility for the ensuing chaos. Some of the more superstitious people on the relays were even whispering that it's the ghosts of the Old war claiming retribution. Amidst the ensuing finger pointing and gun fighting, the Lotus finds a trail.

All the locations and disappeared equipment had no obvious correlation with each other, but there were signs. Crafts not being where they were supposed to be in the hanger, entire stocks empty on stations well before the usual consumption rate, people having conflicting reports on where and when their shifts ended. Several times even the spacely matron loses the trail, only for it to pick up on the other side of the solar system. Finally, after several uneasy weeks, she has something. A Corpus convoy carrying a sizable load of both raw and processed cryotic is passing through the asteroid belt today, the belt thickened enormously by wrecks of ships old and new alike. Based on the Lotus' calculations, that's likely the next target for these raids. Putting out the call, she scans the area for nearby Tenno. The objectives were simple; find out who or what's behind the missing supplies, and if necessary put a stop to their actions.

As a semi-active forumer myself, please don't expect to the plot to run off at light speed. Time's a precious commodity for everyone, and even I'm not always going to be able to post replies post haste, or possibly even with the same day (IRL can creep up on people when you least expect it). As such, please be understanding if the speed is slower than what you're expecting.

Lastly as a personal note; please do try to avoid single line replies. There will be times when it's warranted, like say in the midst of an action scene, but do try to be descriptive with your dialogue and actions. I'm not expecting blockbuster levels of text every time you type something, but every little bit helps in getting your point across. Don't assume that what you're imagining in your head will automatically translate in full on your replies (for example, trying to convey sarcasm is *way* more hard than you'd think without putting in the effort to do so). The more thought out you can describe what your OCs are doing, the easier and more varied ways that other people can react in my opinion.

(Out-of-character: This is my first time taking part in this, and I'm semi-inactive, so don't wait up for me in the elevators, k? It's also why I'll give my character quite a bit more progress than usual)

As usual, Nidus dropped down from a inconspicuous vent away from the main hall of the corpus vessel. He checked to make sure that his soma prime and pandero were still on him after the drop, and prepared for yet another loud and brutal run. And again, as usual, he feared the worst would happen: His constant bullet-jumping would crack one of those poorly-designed darvo-tier windows in the ship. Dear Orokin, he really hated when that sh*t happened.

Nidus walked out of the supply closet, quickly noticing and taking care of two moas with his suppressed pandero, shredding both their battery packs in one swift motion. He knew that the Lotus had asked for a couple other agents to join him, but he figured that he might as well make it a cakewalk to catch up to him later on. As he progressed through the ship to his first objective, he had to wonder: Why was he sent in on board the vessel about to be raided? Why shouldn't he have taken his archwing with him? What was the Lotus not telling him, again?

58 poor crewmen later, Nidus had arrived at his first destination: the main database. Although he might not have been as good as a spy as Ivara or Loki were, He was still able to extract the data he needed from the vault. Now all he needed to do was take that datamass he copied, and plug it into a command centre to read where exactly this ship was sent, and what else it was carrying besides what the convoy was "officially" escorting. After all, the corpus would never assign two destroyers to a simple cryotic convoy. Now all he could do was wait for his fellow warframes to arrive to help him control the command centre for long enough to read all of that data.

After all, the corpus would never assign two destroyers to a simple cryotic convoy. Now all he could do was wait for his fellow warframes to arrive to help him control the command centre for long enough to read all of that data.

The vault's data contents are pulled out without a hitch with no alarms triggering. One could easily chalk it up to another successful infiltration...if not for the fact that half a minute after the vault registers the data being pulled, the entire vault goes into lockdown. All overhanging lights shut off, all doors magnetically seal themselves, and ship goes deathly silent. Shortly afterwards, a slow -hsssss- breaks the silence.

Out of every single vent a turquoise tinted cloud begins to pour out into the vessel. Over at the ship's reactor, several modified coolant cells have automatically injected themselves inside, beginning to turn the entire entire craft into an ice coffin. Already several entire hallways leading up to the vault are now coated in solid water, with the rest of the ship following suit. From the vents, the ground up gaseous cryotic are quickly converting the smaller vents and rooms into a blue tomb. Out on the edges of the freighter, the last remains of the crew have finished boarding the now taking off Gox spacecrafts, and are quickly making a beeline into the asteroid thicket, leaving the decoy craft to it's doom amongst the derelicts.

The orbiter drifted in the debris of the asteroid field, bits of shattered ships and space rocks bouncing off the hull as it floated among the rubble.
"Found anything?" the Frost asked as he check his rifle.
"Nothing yet..." The Vauban retorted, eyes fixed on the view-port "Wait a second. I think I see the convoy?"
"How many ships?"
"Unknown. Too much interference from the belt. We'll have to get closer." He said, hurriedly tapping on the console as orbiter made its way towards the Convoy.
"Closing on the corpus convoy, Svytoj." The Vauban said.
"What do ya say, Cheger? Think any other Tenno will show?" The Frost asked.
"I'd say it's certain."
"Then we'd better start scanning for them, too." The Frost finished, Eyes now glued to the view-port.

Already, a Liset prime was watching the craft from a distance.

The rumours surrounding the disappearance of CORPUS supplies was strange but harmless however Formorian cores were another thing. Those were weapons of mass destruction if not handled carefully.

The veteran Tenno, Leonardo watched from afar as he scanned the ship routinely, noticing a temperature decrease in the ship's interior as well as a ping on the sensors, the IFF on his ship along with his Cephalon, Marlo had identified another craft, more tenno, mark ones or mark twos were another thing to deduce later.

"Interesting..." he commented to himself whilst he took his time to move forward as she ship moved.

Inside the bridge of her Xiphos, Kat was observing the Corpus ship, planning to find out what was happening. She was sitting down, legs crossed, with her albino Kavat, Sekmeth, purring on her lap as Kat would stroke her chin softly.

"Sally, any changes?"

|None yet, Operator.| Sallimarius responded. |There is a considerable number of Tenno following the ship, though.|

She rolled her eyes.

"Why am I not surprised...?" She sighed. "Well, let's hope they are actualy helpful."

Sekmeth hopped out of Kat's lap and started playing with the Gersemi Valkyr's tail, purring loudly.

|Your Kavat seems to be at ease for now, so maybe things will go smoothly.|

"Sally, please don't jinx it."

Like fish scattering from a line hitting the surface of a lake, the squads of Gox and shuttles quickly veer away from the self crippled freighter and dive in separate different directions. Radio chatter and radiation emissions are barely registrable, possibly to avoid easy tracking.

Though seemingly cutting their losses, the Corpus crafts aren't making for the edge of the belt. Rather, before most of them disappear from visible sight behind several larger chunks of derelict debris or space rock, they seem to be taking a roundabout, if more hazardous route deeper into the field.

*Altair looked in his orbiter before turning on the scanner and came up with the brilliant idea to see if he could contact others from his scanner using a distress signal before looking at his Warframe with a smile as he turned it on by using his transference and spoke * Hello? Is anyone out there, can you hear me? If any Tenno are listening to this broadcast, I'm stuck near Mercury and my orbiter is out of energy to travel. The only thing working is the scanner. My name is Altair. Please respond soon. I don't know how long my life support systems will last. *It was safe to say Altair was faking being near Mercury and was actually in the asteroid belt hoping for someone to rescue him before he died *

Leonardo quickly made sure the cloaking systems on his Liset were active and he put the ship into Silent running, watching the Gox fighters and the CORPUS shuttles take their leave as he watched the ship from afar but slowly kept following.

Perhaps the CORPUS were planning this diversion to lure out what was taking their ships.

<Operator, I'm doing my best to clear up cosmic radiation to eavesdrop on CORPUS radio chatter but there's too much for me to get a clear signal> said the Cephalon Marlo

"Don't worry about it, make sure to patch us to the other Tenno ships on a secure line, we need to be co-ordinates as best as we can" replied the Tenno with a sniff and a watchful eye under his Mordred Helmet,

<Understood> pinged Marlo as he started to ping a secure connection to the other tenno while Leonardo hummed a tune and sang "Blindless son, Each day you grow older, each moment she's watching your spirit grow cold, child of worry, the mind still unknown shall die defending a world it ignored."

"Pretty small ships to be wandering the belt. Wonder where they're headed." Svytoj said, moving closer to the view-port.
"I'm more curious as to where they came from..." Chegar said, tracking the path of the smaller ships.
The frost tapped his fingers at the edge of the console, obviously contemplating his options.
"I'm gonna take one of our archwings, see if I can follow them. I want you to take Vigil Actual and see where exactly they're coming from." Svytoj said, the Frost make his way towards the hanger.
"Sounds like a plan." Chegar replied, his Vauban following behind.

The metallic green landing craft and an Odonata departed the orbiter, making their ways towards their respective targets.

(so to clarify, did both of them head out on a birdlifter? Svy heading out come up clear enough, but Cheg is a bit more ambigious. Did he just see him out the hanger? did Cheg jump into a wing too and leave the craft floating behind, or did he climb back up to the cockpit and is making his way separately to the freezing freighter? hehe...freezing freighter...hope he doesn't get cold feet :x)

As the Mantis nears the freighter, telltale signs of violent freezing are apparent all over on the viewport. Entire sections of the hull are now covered in ice, with the area spreading at a continuous pace. Engines have been shut off, whether intentionally or accidentally, leaving the cargo hauler drifting like flotsam on the sea of stars. The hanger at the stern of the ship remains free of blockage for now, but it's difficult to tell how quickly that could change.

The majority of the Gox disappear from sight as they zoom behind a larger chunk of broken off hull, their emissions trails being severed by the ambient debris field. One shuttle remaining goes down an alternate corridor, managing to stay in view of the Odonata's pilot for now. It's engines are barely active, using the bare minimum of maneuvering thrusters to navigate this minefield of sharp edges and blunt masses.

More than once A hunk of slag scraps over the shuttle, leaving sparks and scratches in its wake; but still the shuttle doesn't jerk away, maintaining it's zigzag through the field. At the very least, it can be speculated that none of the crafts are doing this at random; the shuttle's movements hinting at a planned action. The corridor begins to close as quickly as it appears. An archwing sized object may be able to pursue after the shuttle if it so chooses, but the window of opportunity is closing fast.

Katherine frowned slightly as she saw the Gox dispersing, and decided she needed more mobility.
"Sally, prepare my Itzal. I need to follow those ships."

|Certainly, Operator. Also, I can't really clear much of the radio, but it would seem the freight ship has been decomissioned. The temprature inside has dropped to sub zero levels.|

"Typical Corpus strategy. They don't want their ship to fall on enemy hands. Plus, it's the perfect bait." Kat walked to the Archwing port and the Itzal grappeled onto her hips. She then looked down to the kavat following her. "Sekmeth, while im away, you're the lady of the house. Make sure Toxic doesn't break anything." Having said that, she gave her other Kavat a quick glance. Toxic was sleeping on the Incubator Section, which Kat had repurposed to be her pets' permanent quarters. The dark blue, green and black kavat rose an ear and opened one eye, looking at his owner before going back to sleep. Kat gave Sekmeth one last chin scratch before jumping into the airlock.

Once outside, she quickly fired her thrusters and followed the Gox, trying to pick one. As luck would have it, another Tenno was following a shuttle, so Kat decided to pick another one. Zigzaging between the rock wasn't hard, due to the Itzal's high mobility, but she kept her sensors on high alert, in case someone, or someTHING, decided to poke around.

Noticing his fellow Tenno on the movie, Leonardo decide to follow the frozen Freighter of Cryotic and ice, he also began to work on a secure connection with his fellow Tenno and reply to them.

"This is Tenno Leonardo, To any Tenno ships in the area, please respond." he then sniffed and kept his scans on the vessel, still cloaked and running silent as he followed the larger ship.

Chegar quickly docked the mantis, entering into the frozen ship with a dull crunch as ice cracked and shifted under his boots. He proceeded into the ship, readying his sobek for whatever he would find. His headlamp flickered on inside the ships frozen interior.

The inside of the freighter wouldn't look out of place half buried on the frozen wasteland of Europa. Multiple hallways have been encased in solid ice, with more slowly encroaching upon the innards with every passing second. The onboard lights have been shut off, though inexplicably power from the reactor is still flowing as multiple doors remain magnetically sealed. Half glazed signs on the wall point the way towards the inner cargo hold and vaults. Those vents that haven't completely frozen over continue to pump out gaseous blue coolant, dropping the temperature ever lower.

The shuttle doesn't react to the shadower, or if it did it doesn't waste energy in escaping; at least until the debris field opens up again. Upon another glance, calling it a "corridor" would be too kind; more than once the shuttle halts in place for several minutes, splintered corridors and bent containers floating inches from the craft before finally drifting onward and the shuttle continues onward.

The Gox mining craft is arguably moving at an even more reckless manner than the personnel shuttle. Though it's thrust is much smaller, it's reaction and acceleration is much faster. More than once, the insane(?) pilot steers the Gox in a straight line or curve only to immediately fly on on a different Y or Z axis without ever changing it's facing direction. Attempting to teleport after it would be suicide in the thick ambient debris if the Gox decides to bolt away, but for the moment, conventional means are still proving effective.

Both the Itzal and Odonata P are now on the same Z axis with each other capable of seeing each other's silhouettes if they look up(?) and zoom in close enough with low , though they're still separated by a steadily moving stream of space rock and metal between them.

Neither of their targets make a move, idling their engines and biding their time. Something about this whole situation screams *deliberate*, but if the Corpus know about it, they're keeping it to themselves; they're certainly not talking to each other, the enemy radio chatter deathly silent.

All around the birdlifters, the debris hallways continue to twist and bend, slowly tightening their noose on the four crafts.

*Altair seemed to panic as he channeled his energy into the scanner except this time onto a secure line*

Hello? Any Tenno out there? I am in need of dire support, my orbiter is out of power and I don't know how much longer until my life support fails. I'm currently hiding in the asteroid belt. My name is Altair. I repeat, requesting immediate rescue . *He then stopped channeling before transferring out of his Warframe and hid in a corner quietly crying as if thinking this was going to be how he spent his last breathing moments *

Altair's message finally broke through, Svytoj's comm system barely managing to make it out.
"...sh!t..." He muttered under his breath: Without knowing if the Corpus vessels were scanning for chatter, he wasn't sure if responding could tip them off to his presence.
"Damn it...should have made Chegar take this on..." Svytoj said, still muttering to himself. He continued on his path towards the ship, tucking his wings and cutting the engine as he finally made contact with the ship, making sure that his touch down was light and inconspicuous: not an easy task for a Frost.
The Frost took a moment to take in his situation: with most of the exits to small for him to fit, he wasn't quite sure if he could even get to Altair. He began scanning the wall of the derelict, looking for anything that his archwing could punch through.
And that's when the FFID kick in: an Itzal, moving fast near where Svytoj's target was.
"No no no..!" he said under his breath as he cut his archwing's transceiver, hoping that the pilot won't detect him. If they transmitted to him, he'd likely be exposed.
He slowly affixed himself to the ship, letting a layer of ice bind his leg to it as he continued his scan of the derelict.
Come on... Gi̧ve̵ m͝e͠ ̵s͡o͠m̸e̵th̸i҉n͟ǵ ̢to͟ ҉pųn͏c͞h ́th̕r͡ou͢g̵h.͞ he thought.

Kat kept swearing silently through the whole chase, having had way too many close calls. But now, she found herself at an impass, not to mention the Corpus were toying with them and... whoever or whatever was causing the disappearences. She growled, wanting nothing more than to dive head-first and tear through the Corpus ship! But, she kept her temper in check... for now. She just kept observing the vessel, dodging the occasional debris that would come her way.

*Altair looked around as he heard someone landing on his orbiter before transferring back to Excalibur and looked up before transferring again and and used the flat part of his sword to knock against the surface  where the stranger's foot was as he panicked to see his rescuer* Please help me! I don't want to die after escaping the damn Corpus. *His breathing was getting heavier before he felt a little lightheaded as he collapsed onto the ground*

Svytoj was still scanning the side of the derelict for a weak spot to punch through. That's when the light went off in his mind.
So stupid. why'd I forget that? Svytoj thought, Finally reaching out to Chegar through the transference link.
"Chegar, I may need you to help out with something."
"Kind of busy here. There's more ice in this ship than on Europa." Chegar replied.
"I just need you to send a ship and an archwing to these coordinates." Svytoj said, the coordinate appearing in Chegar's mind. "I'd dispatch them myself, but I don't wanna give away my position."
Chegar gave a soft sigh. "Will do." he said, sending out a Xhipos equipped with an Itzal to the location Altairs transmission came from.

After several minute, the Xhipos was struggling to get a fix on Altair's location. It began sending out transmission in an effort to pin point Altair.

"This is Tenno Transport Vigil Noble. Please Identify yourself." Chegar's could be heard over the airwaves.

In the slowly flowing river of wreckage in-between the two frames, scores of slag melted by weapons fire and cooled by the passage of time floats amid half leaking power cells and electrical lines. Many times a still active reactor nearly gets impaled by a particularly large chunk of hallway or a charged laser battery bumps into a loaded galleon cannon. For those peering in, it might even look like an idyllic, if eerie scene out of a holo vid.

..

..

until now.

A separated fuel cell gets nudged into a into a coolant line that's still connected to a functional, if stuttering reactor. In it's neglected state the results are near instantaneous. A sphere of energy quickly flashes through the entire area, clouds of magnetism now spawning all over. Lighter debris begin to fly into clumps with increasing speed as the entire minefield is forcibly shifted by the changing environment. Large chunks of hull begin to levitate towards the reactor, pulling anything caught amidst them being slammed and crushed enroute.

Most importantly, the walls of debris in front of the tailed Gox and shuttle shift enough to make an escape attempt; an attempt not lost by the crewmen pilots within as their engines roar to life for the first time since they left the derelict freighter, tearing through wreckage with a sense of urgency, even scraping past chunks of metal and rock that they could've otherwise avoided with enough caution. The chance to escape was in sight and they were going to take it, for soon the entire area was going to light up like an exploding star.

The freighter's bowels are completely devoid of visible life, baring the one currently walking through it's hallways. The last remains of the cryotic gas finishes pumping through the air vents, entire chunks hallways now blocked entirely by ice. A possible assumption could be that whatever happened inside the ship, the end result was completely intentional. On the signs still visible through the solid ice on the walls, it points out that the Vauban is only a minute away from another of it's vaults, or a minute under normal walking conditions.

All around the frozen freighter unarmed mines from a grineer galleon hapazardly begin to fly like pinballs, the magnetic clouds created by the reactor setting of chain reactions through this entire section of asteroid field. Smaller scale explosions are already going off on the outer edge of the clear area of the freighter, but the reprieve won't last long.

Up above the craft, a monstrous galleon sized core, twelve of it's sixteen nodes still brightly spinning, begins to sluggishly tumble towards the icy coffin.
