Mikki79
Most (all) of the pistols/secondary weapons that people consider to be good do either armor ignore, armor piercing or poison damage. I've noticed my Twin Vipers do like nothing against ancients. I'm not sure where the weakpoints are on the new ancients I just shoot em in the head, their limbs are too hard to hit. Against level 70+ ancients it feels like I need to empty nearly my entire ammo load (438 rounds) to kill a single one. At the same time 2 shots from the snipetron vandal usually finishes them off. No return mod is so weak compared to piercing hit and flechette, but I guess that's the weakness of pistols. Which makes nearly all of them crap. Perhaps no return should be buffed? Davoodoo
Well possibly you could buff no return to 90% but then for balancing issues i would nerf hornet strike to 110%

MangoMonkey
The Lex (and now the Seer) is considered a solid sidearm pretty widely, while the Lato Vandal - for anyone who has - it one of the best all-rounder weapons in the game. But yeah, I agree that No Return needs a significant buff to even out the scaling issues.
Rudest
It's the armor scaling! Vipers are fantastic outside of T3 Defense.
LazyKnight
I have soloed a tier 3 extermination void with only using a very high mod level seer, but I doubt it could handle a tower defense map or anything else that goes past 90+ . They shouldn't take the mods I have for a normal pistol to be good. No-return needs a major buffed at max rank it should be 50%-60% so pistols can at least hurt grineer. Or rework the armor scaling so everything with normal damage can be viable again ?
LazyKnight
Or rework the armor scaling so everything with normal damage can be viable again ? That would work far better, I just doubt DE will do anything because they didn't even mention it in twitch live stream #10. I expected a fix to be in update 9, and why there wasn't one when it wouldn't take more than 4 hours to fix and test makes me wonder if they care. FoxNightscape
I'll agree. After getting my Seer to 30 and modding it for all the damage I could I STILL find it lacking against armored things. The No Return is kinda.. well. Junk. 5% is pretty much negligible, and I had an easier time killing ancients/grineer with a level 10 bolto than my 30 Seer. It makes me sad, since I really want the Seer to be a kinda epic sniper pistol, too.
Numot
No return needs to be 60%. But yeah, I agree that No Return needs a significant buff to even out the scaling issues. The reason the Lex (and seer by proxy) works out is because the base damage is so high that no return actually has solid gains.
taiiat
It's the armor scaling! Vipers are fantastic outside of T3 Defense. and before Squidwards, i could kill lv60 ancients with one magazine from Vipers anyways! they're damn good.
Vaskadar
Yeah, armor scaling is silly in this game.
Tesrac
My vipers are my fallback weapon when my Burton's damage starts to fall of due to armor scaling, slap a split chamber mod into them and you will dramatically increase both your damage output and your ammo efficiency. For serious lulz stick a Seeker mod on them at .5 puncture and now down whole groups of enemies with a wall of bullets. :)
Lers
I soo want an excuse to dust off my Aklato's... I'm a sucker for dual pistols with actual bullets and not toothpicks as projectiles. As it stands however they remain in retirement until we get a No Return buff, or an armor scaling rework :(
