I think it should be the other way around. Post count can still be seen anyway, so that's not added info.

Displaying Mastery Rank, however, could be useful: if a player's complaining about something or suggesting tweaks, at least readers can immediatly know if it's a "play more and learn your way through" issue or the actual point of view of an experienced player.

Of course this could lead to elitism, but I hope the community is mature enough to avoid this.

Not everybody needs to play the game for tens of hours to identify a floor in the game. Additionally, not all players care about mastery rank at all, and therefore don't bother ranking up many different weapons.

There is a relationship between mastery rank and time played, but time played does not correlate to validity of observations/criticisms of the game, and having ranked lots of weapons to 30 certainly does not make somebody's opinion better.

I was talking about frame balance, endgame content, weapon and skill utility, and so on.

Some matters can be discussed even without a lot of time spent on the game, some others can't.

I personally have some suggestions about core-gameplay matters, despite not having a high mastery rank, and yet I found my initials complaints about balance of weapons and frames completely wrong just by playing the game a bit more.

I do agree that mastery rank, as of now, is not a clear indicator of how much your knowledge of the whole game is: it does show, however, that you experienced a lot of equipments, which is indeed a big portion of discussions around here.

I generally agree, Notso.  But I do think gameplay hours makes an opinion better informed.  Of course it's still possible to be a well-informed idiot.

This is actually a really valid point that I hadn't ever given any thought. If someone has put the time into using a large variety of weapons and warframes, that person would be more qualified to provide feedback as far as balancing is concerned.

But then again,

it's still possible to be a well-informed idiot.
