-Nerf-Herder-
I'd say the Tenno are from say something like 1000BC old ancient warriors awoken once again to fight, and the current year after buy 'n' large ruined earth and every planet close to it, it's probably something like 4013AD. OR when the grineer were born they told PETA, EPA, and all the other organizations that prevent us from advancing technology wise to shut up or die... and then moved to kill them all... Thus 4013... Corpus tech nuts with no human morality(since all the activist nuts that did care are dead), and Grineer who kill everything more then likely... (since they see Clones as a superior race, and don't care about animals unless they are grineer cloned animals LOL) Edit: Also activist today are highly against cloning... so the Grineer had to have come in the year 3000, or secretly throughout 2000.... But after the greedy corporation buy 'n' large forced everyone off the planets and into space they were domineered by the CEO's and rights and freedom were surrendered thus removing all thought about free speech and any civil riots were jettisoned into outer-space. I'd see the grineer as a marine colony that went crazy after being out in space for so long, resorted to inbreeding and cloning to keep their numbers up. Corpus I'd see as a science colony that resorted to cybernetic implants and robotics to protect them. Were the inbreeding and cybernetics caused an infection amongst the colonies which in turn lead to the infested race. Arlayn
can't be 4013 though because that would mean a lot of stuff had to have happened in a short period of time and already the estimated time period to terraforming Mars, with cost is ridiculous. So even 3000 is a long shot... UNLESS clones or the grineer led to advanced space travel however this would be wrong too. Because we have colonist on every planet... Thus this leads me to the year 2500-3000 being the years we completely colonized Mars and maybe one other planet... by the year 4000 they may have colonized more planets or gotten better at it and colonized all of them. By the year 5000 the grineer must have been created as part of a project, along side Corpus becoming one of the top number one religions sweeping the origin system in storm... By the year 5100 the Grineer would have a sizable army in which they would leave earth to start better cloning projects as the activist would have learned of them and made them outcast. By the year 5300 the Grineer come back with a large army great enough to face off against Earth forces leading to a violent war ending in the ruling of Grineer. By the year of 5303 the Grineer conquest would have begun... By the year 5310 most of the system would be subjugated with resistance from Corpus and the awakening of the first Tenno... 5311 Warframe begins... Shion963
Latest livestream confirmed Hayden Tenno to be the first 'tenno', and that the Orokin era came a thousand(s) after that. And we've currently woke up probably another thousand years after Orokin-era. So.... 39~40th millenia century? EDIT: Derp, WH40k what have you done to me Edited July 22, 2013 by Shion963

11.11.11
I'd say 4227X.C - judging solely by the striations in the letchite crystal trees. Common for that era.

Reventine
I imagine that it is something like the Dune universe, in the year 10 thousand with almost everything that we would find to be familiar long faded out of memory and time.

Sixty5
The ways that technology appears to have developed seems to indicate no more than a few-hundred years. However word from the Dev's is that it takes place Eons in the future. As humanity as a whole has not seemed to have changed overly much I'm assuming no more than a few thousand years. Though keeping other lore in mind one can assume that there was some sort of cataclysmic event sometime in the past, resulting in a setback in technological development, and likely the large differentiation in the different resultant human races. So from an informed point of view I'd say somewhere between the year 3000 and 10000. So sorry guys, no Warframes in our lifetime.

Shion963
Derp with the millenia-century thing. They said the Orokin came before humans... where did you hear they came after? Edit: this isn't Warhammer 40k... Well AFAIK the Orokin was a golden age where human civilisation spanned the star system, and had mastery over the Void and all that fun stuff. So the Orokin didn't come before anyone, as every human alive during the Orokin era is effectively considered Orokin to begin with. (I don't really buy all that Orokin=Aliens thing, but this could easily be proven/disproven in future lore additions) The Tenno are descendants of an ancient and mystical civilization of lost warriors from the Orokin era on Earth. (from https://warframe.com/game/factions/tenno) And it seems that we need to add a few thousands to the figure, since the Tenno have been asleep for centures after the end of the Old War which marked the end of the Orokin era. Those that survived the old war were left drifting among the ruins. (from https://warframe.com/game/story) Preserved in cryopods for centuries, the Tenno now awaken to a new war, fighting and resisting warring factions as the sole bearers of the Orokin-created Warframes. (from /tenno link) EDIT with Old War quote So I concur with Sixty5's 3k~10k figure (although I'd put it at max around 5k or 6k).
