Fatal Attraction and Gazal Machete not synergizing outside of the Simulacrum

So I just got the Gazal Machete and I have been using it with the Djinn sentinal when I noticed that the corrosive proc that lasts about thirty seconds never happens unless I go to the simulacrum where it works everytime fatal attraction ends. I have my Djinn set up so that fatal attraction is the first power to be used, and the power works fine, except the synergy is gone between the gazal machete. This makes the gazal machete essentially the same as any other melee then.
