Grineer Commander Bugs And His Troll-Aport Swap

Grrr, teleport swap bugs.

 

Please reconsider a /stuck command. There has to be a way to implement it without leaving it open to abuse.

 

Twice now Grinner Commanders have teleported me and I have fallen through the world, killing me and not just warping.

 

Tthree times now I have had to quit missions because a Grinneer Commander has teleported my into some geometry. They have actually done this to me four times but one time I managed to get out.

 

The /stuck command in Star Wars the Old Republic is quite good. It can't be spammed and more often than not, it saves a GM request.

 

Maybe it could teleport you to the nearest npc nav point or something similar.

 

I appreciate any effort you guys put into this game. Overall I am quite happy with it. Just a few frustrations like this one make me want to punch kittens... :P

This isn't about abuse, according to Scotty. He said during the livestream prior to last that letting people do an /unstuck would discourage reporting bugs.

Sort of a backaswards way of forcing bug reports imo, but yeah, that's the dev rationale.

Kind of makes sense but imagine after a hard boss fight you finally got the last BP for the warframe of your choice and rare mat drop and a kick &#! mod to boot. Now Grineer commander in his gnome hat teleports you in geometry meaning you get stuck. Which is more likely to happen? You accept it that you lost your stuff due to no fault of your own and keep playing and report the bug or you get extremely angry (rightly) and quit playing forever or unless until you cool off forgetting to report the bug in progress.

 

I am aware DE support probably would reimburse the lost items but I also heard that if you log out and log back in it erases the data leaving you S#&$ out of luck

I was in this T2 raid for 2 hours once. must've gotten at least 40 mods and gained a couple of levels for each weapon/frame. For some reason the level who absolutely huge, and had at least 5 treasure rooms. Then I got bounced up by one of those troll pillars that pop up, into the ceiling and got stuck there.

I wasn't about to quit. But I was contemplating on making a rage post in bug report forum to the effect of "I will tell you there is a bug, but I won't tell you where, since you won't even let me /unstuck."

I didn't do that, but imagine people who just say "F this game" and leave. It'd be a terrible waste, and I don't see why they can't set up an unstuck pointer where the devs can check where people are having to use the unstuck button, and then go fix it.

I can't even find the quote that made me think it was an abuse thing. Maybe I simply misremembered. 

 

Agreed it does make sense in a backward way. That being said, I did not have the time to wait around for a gm who may or may not appear, so I took the hit, quit the mission and game, lost the mods and the data on where and how it happened and other than this thread, didn't report it anyway.

 

If they want people to report bugs, make it easier. Have a report bug button that logs location and other data.

 

To be fair, I haven't been teleported into geometry since.

 

It brings me to another point, so many technical errors routinely 'cheat' myself and others out of mods that dropped and were picked up. Any bug like this that prevents completion would be vastly mitigated if as soon as I picked up any mod or resource, it was added to my deck/stockpile. That one change there would soothe the pain caused by many bugs and glitches.
