Would be great to actually encounter some non military npcs in the game.

Pilots, tecs medics or just personell. Maby it is hard to implement?

I am of course speaking of bases and such, not defence or such.

We already got that Corpus Crewman. Besides, they will be killed in mere moments by players passing by.

If you were a Corpus crewman engineer, and your ship is boarded by four deadly Tenno / a Grineer warship / an Infested-filled shuttle / all of the above, would you:

a) continue monitoring the subatomic boiler room

b) respond to the red alert and grab the nearest Dera and try to repel the invaders

Well the crewmen seen more like fighters to me, why else wear armored helmets?

The intercom tells tecs to report, would be nice to see this.

And if npcs are a no since they cant defend themselves, why not senior officers with less armor? They could still be a threat, or raise alarms, guards etc.

I would love to see a gruneer squad barracks, with some living quarters. Maby a tv with grineer news from the front.

I love details in a game, and so far wf makes it hard to admire the levels and textures themselves.

But thats just me :)

AFAIK those are the standard crew getup. Those things are found everywhere on corpus ships and outposts, they're not specialist equipment.

And we do see Corpus Techs, remember?

Also, why wouldn't you wear a full suit with hard helmets when working in a ship that needs manual controls to close a goddamn hull breach?

The livestreams mentioned that the next tileset is the Grineer Settlement. Although chances are you won't see any Grineer Low-Cost Houses with Grineer News Network on the Grineer TV...

Ok, i take it this is too far from the gameplay currently.

Seems i alone appreciates it, so i will wait and see whay DE does in the future.

Cheer up, guy. I'm sure there'll be some hints of how the Grineer go about their daily lives in the settlement.

But Warframe is a 'serious' game, there won't be many who would appreciate seeing a room made entirely out of bunkbeds and lockers if it's just there for atmosphere. Those parts of the ship would be far removed from say, the reactor, VIP's office, safety vaults.

Although now that I think about it, It'd make sense to see crew quarters in Extermination missions though...

They are all wearing these helmets. Thats their style. And sure they have to be armored. Engineers have to be safe. There is no such thing as insurance in the future....

I guess its just me wanting clearer distictions between enemy classes and variety other than the color of the uniform. I would enjoy playing stealth and seing some interaction between the Corpus when not raging like they are being chased by hounds from hell, straight into my sharp blades.

Or a tech sitting tapping on a console. If this kind of thing is happening allready, we dont see it because we are allways fighting them.

Anyone know if they have animations for idle npcs? Or do they just stand there staring into space? Not counting Grineer on patrol of course.

I ran past infested invisible since every hallway was crammed with them, my Loki would surely have been slaughtered within a room. They just stood there gently swaying their arms, like they were all listening to some slow reggae music. Really amusing, but then this is my point.

Even the Hive must do something for kicks? Mutating, sleeping or something.

Guys, it's a war...no place for friendly NPC's.

Yes I know, completely agree. But that does not prevent us from seeing non-war things connecting us with the Lore and History of the game. Since a story-mode of sorts is on the way, Lore is going to grow on player demand.

Star Wars A new Hope would never have been as good without the random everyday bits, like the two stormtroopers chatting about the new speeder that just came out, next to a control consol Obi-wan is hacking to lower the shieldgrid.

Im not saying I want this to be an adventure game all of a sudden. This is a fighting game where things die horribly. But I love immersion an I love Lore.

One can dream right?

I heard in a livestream DE wanted to give them idle animations like tapping on a computer and what not.

You are correct. The Devs plan on giving them various "boredom" idles and interaction animations. They'll probably do some conversations and stuff too. It was in the 'ask the animators' livestream.

Who tells you corpus are humans ?

The official website does. "The Corpus are a dominating proto-corporation of humans that maintain and operate the trade routes of the Solar Rails."

All the groups in Warframe are human descended. Didn't you notice the whole thing is set in Sol? Where would aliens come from?
