Lanka Re-Skin?

Lanka and Snipetron function very differently, yet they share the same skin.

Why not make the Lanka look more like a railgun? It shoots through magnetic induction, so it's supposed to be a railgun. Why does it have to share the same skin with Snipetron? It's the only Dojo research weapon (the hardest to obtain probably) that looks like a non dojo weapon.

I would like to see a re-skin for the Lanka in the future, I'm sure it will make all Lanka users happy!

The sound it makes reminds me of megamans buster cannon~

I would love to see a megaman buster cannon one day~

hell, make a skin for it and call it a Tenno arm cannon instead~

and give it a Tenno'y style to it so it doesnt break any copyright~

Says someone who knows nothing of how much work goes into a 3D mesh.

I tried making a 3D mesh using Wings 3D. Having absolutely no experience whatsoever, I spent 6 hours trying to create a model of a Glock 17 based off a single picture. It didn't end well...

But... Maybe the professionals at DE who get paid to do so might be able to make one?

Since the game is in Beta and all, this doesn't really matter though. As seen with the Boltor, it may be changed in the future, unless they want it to be an 'improved internals' successor instead of a completely different one.

It is true that they are paid to do their work, but they have deadlines to meet and other projects to complete. The developer lifestyle entails a constant workflow; if the head of the design department likes an idea, they'll assign it to that workflow. Telling the department they're lazy is a kick in the balls to any 3D artist, so I'm going to be nice and assume Tingnok doesn't understand how game development works.

If you want my advice for learning mesh, pick up Blender and get right to work. Practice is your greatest teacher, and hotkeys are a powerful tool. There is only so much a tutorial will teach you; experience and trial and error will help you improve your skills immensely. After a couple of false starts, my first mesh came out looking like this. I learned so much on that model alone!

Freelance 3D artist Millenia made a neat tutorial:

It's not on Blender, but the basics are pretty transitive and are covered.

Probably because the snipetron wasnt even supposed to stay in the game....

That is the gist of it. The Lanka simply took over that design to be more in line with the Corpus design aesthetic. There is no longer a Snipetron to compare to. While some may disagree, that was the final decision of DE, regardless of whether or not you also still own one.
