She also has 2 garbage abilities, I'm not going to even get into psychic bolts as everybody knows the dmg is laughable. I'm here to talk about some absorb, THE AWESOME MEDITATING POWER OF ABSORB! Here is my story. Running a T2 Mobile Defense void mission. Nothing to complex these are pretty easy. We run, we kill, we conquer the 1st Terminal defense point, I grab the datamass and dash to the next point hoping my allies will catch up. The defense starts and i'm shooting away the opposition, then I drop a chaos and things are going fine. Then S#&$ starts hitting the fan and my allies (slowpokes) are nowhere to be found. There are atleast 20+ mobs with several heavy grineer gunners + a myriad of other corpus gunners. I pop my maxed out absorb, and for the duration the ENTIRE army laces into me with every bullet, energy weapon, melee, grenades you name it I ate it from second 0 to the final blast. Then I exploded my MEDITATED FURY!!!! Nothing happened... the dmg was insignificant and didn't kill ANYTHING not a single thing died. This skill must be fixed =\ it's the most situational dmg ult (you must be getting focus fired for it to do ANYTHING) and with that condition it still does some of the worst dmg i've ever seen. TL:DR I ran a T2 Mobile defense and a FULLY charged Absorb didn't do S#&$ to t2 mobs.... Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Dmg was so so sad. So very very sad.... :( I also remember watching DE_Rebecca do the defense challenge in a live stream. She ran into a nice corridor filled with baddies and dropped an absorb and to her dismay it didn't kill a thing lol. I know they said they're going to buff it so it has a stronger taunt but that isn't going to help the damage too much. They need to add a damage amplifier similar to Nova's Antimatter Drop. j0ker13265 Posted July 24, 2013 Share Posted July 24, 2013 if enemies are inside your bubble they don't take dmg, neither does the ones behind walls, i have even experienced taking 0 dmg to enemies below me. also, the ability takes waaaaay too much time for a fast-paced game such as warframe, should be as fast and effective as in the trailer :) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Soniti Posted July 24, 2013 Share Posted July 24, 2013 I think it would be pretty sweet if they both made it quadruple the damage received upon release (or some kind of serious improvement, at least a decent damage floor) and had it mind control all enemies within a certain range to attack Nyx for the absorption duration. The problem I have with it is that as often as not the enemies just walk away from it. Making it completely useless besides my shields regenerating. And also it doesn't seem to work against infested. Not true, Antimatter drop easily hits 40k+ due to its damage multiplier, ability to hit enemies behind cover and lack of damage drop-off (absorb does reduced damage based on the range the enemy is from the explosion) The easiest way to fix Nyx's absorb is to make it like a longer range antimatter drop with possibly a bigger damage multiplier (it is an Ult after all). I had no idea what frame it was so I got Mag.. thinking of course, magnetic powers... that must be the frame she was running with...FAIL. But I was happy to play with Mag regardless, I then found out it was Nyx and got her. I think I only use 3 of the abilities, if I remember right I took off the bolts one because it was useless. And as awesome as Absorb looks it is very situational and the chance of failure very high. For the most part if my teammates see me pop it, it's to give them a chance to take cover and recharge their shields while I get ready to get killed. Because everyone will surround me, I will kill next to nothing and all will be ready to shoot me down as soon as Absorb releases. It's just one of those things we get used to, taking one for the team!! Chaos in the other hand is awesome, I love it, but I get 0 credit for kills caused by it which is FAIL... I have spoken about this on another thread. I have no idea how to use Mind Control, trying to target something to mind control will get me killed or it will be dead before I can do anything to one... so kinda fail, but others use it flawlessly, more power to them. Niryco Posted July 24, 2013 Share Posted July 24, 2013 (edited) To those who ask for more taunt, DE already said that the taunt for Nyx absorb is already at max, having to increase it any further would mean they would have to develop a more complex system for it that would take time. So as of now, taunt amount variation is an impossible dream. However the main problem is that damage still doesn't go through solid objects. Also the further the enemy, the lesser is the damage. That means there is a damage multiplier that instead of positively affecting it, negatively affects it. DE is trying to say don't use it, it is pointless. I mean yes reworking a skill is complicated, but tweaking numbers or simply removing the dmg-range dropoff should be an easy fix no?
