Getting The Hek (What The Hek)?

Hello there,

 

I have reached rank 4 and I was thinking about getting the Hek. I have never used a shotgun in warframe. I have heard good things about it, but I am not entirely sure. Any suggestions + possible mods?

it's very good and powerful, but only for short range. It's worth spending catalyst on it.

Lex for a secondary is a good solution

You are absolutely right to make it cus with it you will be able to solo pretty much anything in the game actually,

Multishot is a must have of course, Point blank also, the new Blaze mod is just perfect on it, after that dont forget to put also the one with 90% amor piercing,

a 40% shootgun magazine capacity to have 6 shot in your magazine, if you still have room left you can go also for reload speed,

but definitively a really good choice,

Might wanna do Strun or BOAR first and get used to using a shotgun. Because once you get a HEK, there's little reason to sell it and rank those other 'weaker' shotguns.

Hek is very good!..Also u can get Sobek. Both are great shotguns. I currently have both and they do everything fine.

I currently have Kunais as my secondary, which are supercharged although not completely modded yet. Is that a good match?

 

I also have ember(potatoed) and volt(not potatoed) frames. Which warframe does it go well with?

I'd say Volt. The Hek (Although more accurate than the other shotguns) is very much a CQC weapon, so naturally Volt synergizes with these weapons as his speed ability allows him to 'close the gap' between enemies quite rapidly.

I hated it.  Went back to my Braton (before clantech weapons were around).  Sold my Hek.

What about the bronco prime vs. Hek? Is that a better weapon to get?

Mind you, I cannot supercharge much since I have only one catalyst left.

Problem with bronco is, its a pistol

 

shotguns get a mod for 90% armor piercing damage and one for 60

pistols get 30% max

 

if you ever want to kill grineer, get hek(or ancient infected for that matter)

 

side note, ember works well with hek thnx to overheat... you can be close and still almost get no damage

volt works thnx to his higher shield and his electric shield(it makes hek crazy powerfull if you shoot through it)

 

so either warframe will work

If you buy the Hek, avoid shooting anything past 20 m. It starts losing damage at that range. at 30 m It barely deals any damage any more.

Kunai is good at any range (ok not extremely far but let's face it: you are always near enough) best secondary beside Acrid and Despair.

 

Hek is one of the best primary weapons, dont even doubt to get it and potato it!

 

Nothing beats the Hekradicator!

 

Other good options are: Sobek, Vandaltron, Boltor...

There was a time, pre-Hek nerf, it was a weapon that outclassed every other weapon... Do not underestimate it! It still stands strong!

Hek is a beast, but 6 in the mag kinda sux.  Improved reload speed helps a lot though.  I'm currently leveling a Sobek, it seems pretty good so far as well.  A little less damage, but stock 20 mag is godly on a shotty.
