Ice Storm And Slip Magazine... What's Wrong With This Picture

Ice Storm: 10% freeze damage, 10% magazine capacity. 40% maximum, 9 drain

Slip Magazine: 5% magazine capacity, 30% maximum, 9 drain.

 

 

Same amount of drain, same amount of mod slots, not only does Ice Storm offer a larger bonus compared to the single mod type, it also offers a completely different stat free of charge.

 

 

Why? Isn't the idea of dual mods that they're supposed to offer smaller bonuses than their single-stat counterparts but come with 2 of them at the same time? What's the point of Slip Magazine now?

Well, Slip Magazine drops like crazy and Ice Storm is kinda rare... I never used Slip Magazine in the first place. It's not worth a 9 point drain to get 3 more bullets in my gun...

 

New Aura system no?

 

What does the new Aura system have to do with these 'dual' mods???

Considering you can do nightmare runs on Venus, chances are if you want Ice Storm ,you're gonna get Ice Storm.

Think of it as a level cap increase. With the Update 9 we've got better mods, more Prime weaponry and a power-boosting Aura system, AS WELL AS an increase in the general mission levels (Pluto jumped from 50s to 70s), Nightmare Mode, a new powerful boss and a massive improvement on one of the older ones, with more such content guaranteed to come.

 

I think mods improving along with everything else is pretty much par for the course, don't you?

No point to making the content more challenging if you're just gonna equalize it with more power.

 

The problem is, Slip Magazine still drops. If I go to Pluto and kill a level 100 Corpus Tech, Slip Magazine is in his drop table.

 

This isn't par for the course in any MMO I've ever played.

to put it simple.

 

there are certain mods that utterly outclass similar mods in the game for the same mod points cost.

Like Ice Strom. I have a Hek and there are 6 shots in the magazine. With slip magazine i can have only 5 shots in Bronco Prime, however with Ice Storm i have 6 shots and damage boost. And it will cost me just 9 points. Slip magazine will cost me 8 but without damage boost. Slip Magazine - useless.

 

Hammer Shot. 60% critical damage. My Lanka is so op right now.

 

Focus energy. jeez i don't even want to compare it to shocking touch.

 

Now Aura system. Aura system also makes certain warframes useless. Like Trinity, the New Queen of Uselessness. Rhino have a Roar at least. Not to mention free 14 points.

 

So basically. People who playing this game with some brain, already figured all that in day one, not today when you made this post. Price for dual mods are way too low for weapons and frames alike. The only hope that DE will balance this at some level. Because game was easy before and it even easier now.

 

And don't bs me about how it's difficult to get a mod from Nightmare mode maps. If it is difficult for you, i guess you should reconsider how you play this game.

Might want to put more points in the "make more sense" skill. And in the meanwhile, might also wanna decide if you're with me or against me, because you're acting really bipolar right now.

 

 

Well, one of 'em is a Rare mod, and the other one is Common/Uncommon. I don't see why they should buff Slip Magazine or nerf Ice Storm. It's a rare mod, and it should be better IMO.

 

 

That's not the way mods work at all. Puncture is a rare mod too, you see anyone using that?

I did not say that nightmare mode is hard to finish. I said that Ice Storm is much more rare than slip magazine. I could run 10 nightmare mode missions. Odds are I'll get a slip magazine in at least 8 of those 10, while I met get Ice Storm just once.

And, secondly, I still fail to see how an Aura mod which you equip on your FRAME has anything to do with a mod you equip on your PISTOL...

You know what 4 siphons do right now? They provide unlimited energy. Which makes Trinity and her vampire useless. Vauban can spamm bastille and vortex, which makes any tank in this game again useless.

And those 14 points allows you do make immortal, high damaging warframes. It is like Hammer Shot on a sniper rifle. Combine this with other critical hit mod and what do you have?

 

Dual mods and aura system makes warframes and weapons so overcharged with power that it is not event fun anymore. Those two systems are related.

 

I could have understand Aura system if warframe dual mods would require a lot of points to max them. But they are not.

Same with dual mods for weapons.

Since, you are under the impression your brain functions 'better' than mine, please enlighten me to what was the effect of equipping 4 energy siphon ARTIFACTS as opposed to equipping 4 energy siphon AURAS?? Besides the 14 points (which, for some insane reason, you seem to believe have 'killed entire builds people were developing'), what exactly do you think is different?? Equipping 4 energy siphons before U9 had the same effect, so why is it you said

And yet people are calling for buffs for it, but following that Logic how about Split Chamber? everyone that has it and can use it, uses it and it's a rare mod.

 

if anything needs done, I think slip needs a buff, most ammo mods do, I don't think the points should be touched however because then you can stack the effects if you want to (which is good for build choice). any more expensive and you force people to forma just for that mod, which while people do that, it only removes the mod as an option for lower geared players.
