Research: "Research and experimental development (R&D) comprise creative work undertaken on a systematic basis in order to increase the stock of knowledge, including knowledge of man, culture and society, and the use of this stock of knowledge to devise new applications."

Weapon: A weapon, arm, or armament is any device used in order to inflict damage or harm to living beings, structures, or systems. Weapons are used to increase the efficacy and efficiency of activities such as hunting, crime, law enforcement, self-defense, and warfare. In a broader context, weapons may be construed to include anything used to gain a strategic, material or mental advantage over an adversary.

The funny thing is one person was screwing with the fact that he asked a poorly worded the question and the next person just gives a horrible answer.

First you need to be in a clan, then you buy it from their research center. Then you build it. It's that simple.

ohhh,

so i must in clan first.

then i can do research for the weapon.

actually, i want to research ogris. that's cool one.

I think most clans have finished their research... You don't research weapons on your own. You contribute resources together with members of your clan and then the blueprint is available to everybody.

So, you just need to join a clan, find the chem lab and buy the ogris blueprint. But since you didn't know any of this, I'll assume you're new to the game, in which case you still can't build the ogris as you have to reach mastery rank 6 for it.

must i get level 6 first to research ogris?

If you join a clan that has NOT researched ogris, you can contribute by donating resources (the clan needs materials and credits to research a weapon). After the research is finished, you can buy the blueprint for the ogris. Then you can build the ogris, but only if you're mastery rank 6 or higher.

That's the wiki page for mastery rank. I would suggest you read to avoid getting confused with normal weapon and warframe ranks.

I don't know about the smaller clans, but the bigger clans like mine can no longer recruit people until DE fixes the problems with clan sizes. So, I can't ask the clan leaders to invite you.

There's a section in the forums titled Find a clan: https://forums.warframe.com/index.php?/forum/10-find-a-clan/

You should try there.

If you're trying to join only for the clantech any clan will do, but if you want to play with your clanmates (which is advisable since you can invite them for void runs and they will invite you in return) make sure you join a clan that has players based in your area (you don't want to be playing with people from halfway around the world)
