Eirshy
It seems like any full-body texture update overwrites the sonar blotch, as Saryn's Miasma, Cold mods, Ancient Healer Pulse Goo, etc all cause it to vanish. The damage spot remains, but the visual cue as to where it is is gone, making you memorize and track (pain in the &#!) or recast (waste of energy). Also it occasionally puts it on what seems to be the bottom of an Ancient's foot. That's kinda hard to hit if you don't either knock them over, or lift them into the air. Not sure if this should be in UI instead.
Cyberian_vs
Actually, the spot doesnt always stay in the same place either, I only know of this one example but if you use a Vauban's Bastille, any mobs floating in the air will have the damage spot continuously rotate every second or so meaning that you wont really end up hitting it unless by chance. Alighierian
the damage spot also disappears if a shield osprey gets close to the target

Never noticed this one, and that includes when I was Vaubaning Xini with a Shee who didn't know about this bug. You sure the Shee wasn't just recasting it to move or restore it? Eirshy
Bug's definitely still there, you can add Molecular Primer to the list of things that make the orange blotch invisible. It also sometimes vanishes on its own, if my Lanka powerleveling runs were any indication.
