Aspari
The only melee weapons that suck are one-handed swords. Gauntlets are arguably suck-ish too.

Hayden11121
I don't think the melee weapons are the problem. If you think every one of them sucks, it might be you're more of a shooter.
Saenol
I'm not sure what you're on about Fate_6, melee is pretty awesome. Stuff dies fast and you don't even need to use up any ammo killing them. Some melee weapons even have respectable crowd control capabilities. I suggest ignoring the longswords (a few are decent, but most are worthless), and getting a nice heavy weapon such a Fragor, or Dual Ethers/Cleavers/Zoren. nanogenesis
Dual Zoren for fast-travel. Dual Ether for best melee. Do slide attacks. You. Can. Never. Go. Back.
Reithur
Orthos for the win. Mine's potato'd + 2 forma. Considering a 3rd forma. Potato + maxed out[Reach, Fury, Reflex Coil, Killing Blow, Pressure Point] and just added the two new melee combo mods from nightmare mode to boost my attack speeds and damage even more. Add some Shocking Touch to keep up your damage vs Corpus, built-in armour ignore on Charge attacks makes it good vs Grineer, and x3 vs infested mobs makes the lack of fire ok there, too. Also x3 on slide attacks. Edited July 25, 2013 by Reithur

stivoknis
All melee weapons are not that great. Just pick whichever weapon you think looks the coolest and fits your play style. The orthos is good with charged attacks, gauntlets or daggers are okay with normal attacks, and the kestral is a great ranged melee weapon. d1ru
orthos with maxed stretch, with or without other mods (although fury helps alot) pretty much destroys mobs. i really miss it. but im really liking the Kestrel. The charge attack ragdolls bosses and heavies so its REAAAAALY useful, i one shot the boss that drops the ash bps, i think it was saturn, with the charge attack by knocking him over the edge of his spawn.... still miss my orthos tho... *sniff* Edited July 25, 2013 by d1ru

BoompigXD
My personal opinion and everybody will criticize me for, is the Mire. 35 Base Regular Melee Damage plus 8 or 7 (Can't remember) Bonus Poison Damage that i believe ignores armor, slap a Pressure Point on it, and it becomes instantly my favorite Melee in the game

Yes, it's sad that he couldn't read your mind. Because text totally has body language and inflection you can use to infer a person's intentions, right? Right? Let's not be silly, now. IMO, Mire and Pangolin are the only viable single handed swords. Dark Sword isn't bad if you like to spam charge attacks.
