Please Fix The Thunderbolt Mod

it's a rare mod from infested that doesn't seem to work correctly. When equipped, it has a chance of doing explosive damage INSTEAD OF impact damage. I think the way it is intended to work is for it to do explosive damage AND impact damage. It has a default explosive AOE damage of 250, which drops off at range. Even without pulling back my bow, I can do more than 250 damage easily without thunderbolt on. If I do charge my bow, I have a 45% of hitting over 6k with the mods I have equipped on it. I wouldn't be making this post if I felt the thunderbolt mod was bad. I'm making this post because I think the thunderbolt mod is not working as intended. If I wanted to use an explosive weapon, I would use my ogris and do 2.5k AOE damage instead of 250.

Yes Thunderbolt is trash once you've actually gotten other mods on it, it just turns into a 30% chance to nerf your shot instead of actually helping. It needs to stack with the arrow itself AND change it's damage to a percentage instead of a fixed number.

I think the chance that you get the explosion is fair, its about 49% with split shot, but it doesn't make sense how little damage the mod does (and how much less it can make you do). But yes, with the broken amount of ammo that ogris has and its high damage it is superior for AOE DPS.

Aside from the damage not scaling with other mods, I don't like the randomness of chance with a mod that can blow out windows, blow you up or go off when there is only one target but refuses to work when there is a mob, I think it would work way better if it was a guarantee over certain amount of shots, example: every third shot it would proceed and the arrow would show an effect to let the player know that their next shot is going to be an explosive shot.

Yes I also think that Thunderbolt needs to be a little bit reworked.

 

I hate one thing above all about this mod : it's unpredictability !

 

Situation :
- I don't move my position or my mouse
- I aim the exact same spot and fire twice with a charged attack (or a number a times sufficient to have two explosives arrows)

 

Result :

First explosion doesn't hit me, but the second yes -_-

And my question is WHY !?


And one other thing, why did they make a random element for the explosion? does ogris work like that too?
