Can I upgrade my Founder's account?

I'd like to spend the $30 difference between 'pay for beta' and 'get the big package'.

Can I do that? Or do I have to spend the full $50 to go up a step?

If it's possible to upgrade without outright buying, I'd like to know how.

Thank you! The game has obviously been big fun for me thus far.

I opened a support ticket about this and by the sounds of things once they get back tomorrow they're working on this. Also - if you read the founder FAQ it mentions "upgrades" to founder packages, just give them a bit of time and they'll have it all sorted I'm sure!

I first bought the Initiate pack to immediately get into the beta to see whether or not Warframe was worthy of investing in (It is as you can see). Too my dismay, I found that if you wished to upgrade you had to pay the full amount of the upgrade. As such it really isn't a "upgrade".

Using myself as an example,

I payed $20 for Intiate

Then I payed $250 for Grand Master

Bringing the total to $270

While I don't mind the extra $20 as I think Warframe is a worthy investment, but some others may be held back from upgrading. Red5's Firefall has an excellent payment system regarding their founder's packages. Once you buy a founder pack, you may at any time upgrade to a higher package for only the differance.

For example,

You buy the $20 Basic pack

You upgrade to the $100 Master pack, however you only pay $80 for the upgrade

Bringing the total to $100 not $120 Which you would get using Warframe's current model

While it means less money from a person who upgrades like me, it will mean more overall money coming in. As many players who do not have access to the closed beta may buy Initiate to try it out and decide from there. And if they have to pay the full price of the upgrade, it may scare them away.

I don't agree with this.. If you buy the Desciple package and get 370 plats.. then pay another $30 to upgrade to the next one, you get an extra 1220 plats.. DE would be losing so much money from this...

When you get a founders package and upgrade, you're paying for the perks, which you're helping out DE and Warframe.

DE would be losing so much money from this...

That is a bit shortsighted.

Just from the few people that mentioned it thus far, DE would get another couple hundred bucks. Platinum is an arbitrary value, giving it out costs DE nothing. It is an artificial resource which cannot be traded back into money. Giving out more or less does not deplete the pile of Platinum DE has at their disposal.

It would be more financially sound to allow customers to upgrade to tap into a larger monetary pool, from the mere perspective of econominically tackling the situation. With Founder's Packs being time-limited, there won't be any longterm gains from this avenue of income, so reaching the money now is more important than reaching as much money in a single purchase as possible. Offering an upgrade might convince people how dived in low to do another leap, especially with next month's paycheck, etc.

For me, I could care less about the Platinum. I am looking forward to the Design Council access.

Of course when you upgrade you only get the differance in plats too. Otherwise it would be more than an upgrade. And as Ced23Ric said plats are essentially nothing to RE.

I would agree with this proposal.

I purchased the $50 Founders Pack so that I could play the game, knowing that I would probably drop that much on a good game anyways and it gave me some nice in-game benefits. Now that I have become even more invested in the game, I would like the opportunity to help steer it's design and show my support for the developers, but upgrading to a Master or Grand Master package while effectivly erasing the bonuses of the first $50 I spent is somewhat of a deterrant to do so.

I would happily pay another $50 to upgrade to the Master, and collect the difference in the packages, rather then the rewards all over again. A few extra platinum would be great, but mainly I would like to be part of the Design Council. It's a great focus, but as a working man who has to be wary of his finances, I cannot justify spending $50 redundantly.

I hope DE consider this for the future and before any of the fluff is worked out! I would love to have a say in some of the finer details of Tenno life.
