Let's Talk About Primes...

Let me flesh out my questions and thoughts on this post here about primes.

I would love to see some lore centered around these primes explaining why and/or how better versions of a warframe/weapon came to be(wiki states that primes originate from orokin technology, but aren't normal warframes made of orokin technology too?). Which begs the question, will every prime be better than their normal counterpart in every way? That question may already be answered, if so, please leave it down in the comments below. I believe Mag prime was recently announced, which will be interesting to see how that turns out(all the current primes look amazing imo). Currently there is a prime version of Excalibur, Frost(he is a pain to farm with bad luck), Lato, Latron, Orthos, Paris, Reaper(arguably, as there is no plain Reaper), Skana, Braton, and Fang.

How many primes do the developers plan to add? They could end up having a prime version of every Tenno weapon.  If the majority of the warframes/weapons have a prime version, what is the point of having the old version? I mean, yeah, you might have the old version maxed out and modded up, but you aren't using that weapon to its full potential considering that the prime version has better stats, is potatoed, and can fit any old mods and much more with the potato(considering you haven't potatoed your weapon already) on the weapon. To add on, there seems to be no downfalls(I may be wrong) to owning a prime. It's easy enough to level, and it's already potatoed. With enough farming(if you don't want to transfer mods) you'll be able to apply whatever mods you have and want to your frame/weapon.

This is the off topic section of this post, but I heard somewhere that Warframe takes place in the same universe as Dark Sector and the first Tenno was in fact Hayden Tenno(correct this statement as much as you can if this is wrong). It'd be interesting to see if/how the developers could expand in this area. Also, we want to know more about the stalker. Maybe his warframe bluprints can be one of his drops(thinking out loud here). Now, combining the topics of Dark Sector expansion, the stalker, and lore(plot twist incoming), what if the stalker turned out to be Hayden, who left for(example reason) that the Tenno themselves are secretly the true corrupted because the Lotus is an evil being influencing the Tenno, but only Hayden can see and is helpless against the Lotus so he resorted to becoming the stalker and starts hunting down Tenno.(Tenno as the bad guy? NOOO WAAAYYY!)

OMGhijklmnop I'm a genius! xD

Well, thank you for reading. Please discuss.

my head canon for now is that the Tenno are clones both in the main body and the suit. The PRIMES were the individuals that first "evolved" the special traits like fire or frost, and then were used as the basis for the cloning process. IE why you have tons of warframes running around with the same powers and looks ;)

primes were the ancient leaders that lead the tenno in the old war as far as i know , and off course as it goes leaders get a more enhanced stuff and better and cooler looking gear

Whether warframe is in the same reality or an alternate reality to dark sector is a pretty open question.

All we know is that standard frames are lesser copies, Tenno/Lotus tech imitations of the Primes built with true orokin tech. If you're familiar with WH40k or MechWarrior/Battletech the idea should be familiar. Wehther that's because they needed to mass produce warframes during the fall of the Orokin era (as could be taken by the Excal in the Vor tutorial/trailer not being a prime) or if they're all supposed to be new lesser copies, up in the air.

Hayden is indeed the first Tenno. However, they said this in the livestream too, "Hayden Tenno is not the Stalker. There is no Stalker." -Steve Sinclair

Besides, Hayden is long dead considering how there have been over a thousand years (presumably) between the events of Dark Sector and Warframe.

A lot of lore-type things come into play from the Livestreams. Watch them, its fairly old news to me that Hayden was the first Tenno.
