New Assault Rifle Idea M23-Cytron

I've noticed that many weapons share fire modes within the same category, but have different names, Assault rifles are one of the types that there isn't as much variation as I would've hoped. There are way too many Bratons in this category, and only a few guns are even useful compared to the Bratons, one of them being a semi auto gun, and the other technically being a machine gun When thinking of an idea I thought of a unique Idea for a gun, maybe a gun that shoots full auto, but has a chance of sometimes shooting a heavy bullet in between. It would slow down it's rate of fire for this special bullet, but also do more damage than every other shot. My idea is for this gun to have very good accuracy, decent reload speed, and a clip slightly bigger that the MK-1 Braton, to me other stats don't seem to matter much, especially since a random high damage shot would appear.

 

I present to you the M23-Cytron (sorry about lighting problems like random white spots, they were not visible in my photo editor)

Title says M23 Cytron... then you call it a M23 Braton.... either you typo'd or weren't paying attention when typing.

 

I like the idea of calling it a Cytron... different name aspect. But I don't think putting M23 before it would be a good idea without the other M1-22. We got a MK1 Braton and the Original Braton. No M2-22.

 

Just need stats for it now :P

maybe a high RoF semi-auto rifle (like the latron, but then faster firing) and if you hold down the mouse button it charges a grenade / heavy slug which does higher damage (comparable to normal melee and melee charge attack mechanism)

this game currently doesn't have a 'Battle Rifle', Braton and Boltor are Assaults...
what's missing is a high caliber, high damage, high recoil, highly accurate, slow firing, fully automatic, short magazined rifle.

 

Modern example is the G3 family, specifically the G3A3.

 

EDIT: or.... the 'Heavy Bolter' of the Warhammer universe... but that's a heavy machine gun version that looks more like an autocannon.

Lol yes, but I did make edits besides that, also many ideas used other games as a reference, I just made the picture as a kind of idea of what the gun might look like, lol one is the actual M16, another is the Marksman from Resistance 2 and the other is the first assault rifle the VS get from Planetside 2, doesn't really matter though, cuz combined it doesn't really look like either specific one, I changed it's colors so you can't see the clear evidence of the copy paste, which for some reason happened to make the bottom look like a M1911
