am I suppose to change the online status to invite only status for invitation?

how do I whisper?

Invites can be sent to anyone, no worries about changing your status. Invite only is just if you want to host and only allow people to join who you invite.

To change from online to solo, private, or invite only, click on online, and click on what status you would like to be in. As for whisper, type in "/w [user's name] without the quotation marks or the brackets.

You can also invite directly by typing /invite name.

You're not missing anything; half the time invites don't work in this game.
