Ancients Sometimes Deal Insane Damage

So earlier me and a friend were doing a nightmare mode defense mission against the infested. We were both playing Rhino. We were doing fine until suddenly we would get downed instantly even though we had full shields, or even worse, iron skin, full shields, AND full HP. It seemed to only happen when an ancient hit us with their heavy melee attack, and only sometimes. Most of the time it would do normal damage.

 

Once, I managed to survive this because I had undamaged iron skin on. After getting hit I was left with around 200-300 shields missing, and iron skin completely gone. I estimate the hit did about 1750 damage.

 

Has anyone else seen this happen?

Yeah nightmare ancients are super hard, but I guess the 1% that keep complaining that nightmare is too easy are happy, so meh..

Not that bad when you have energy, but when you do an infested defense mission with energy drain on, well then that just blows.

This isn't complaining about the difficulty though. Unless "enemies randomly do 50x damage on hit" is a nightmare mode thing, it's a bug...
