We Aren't Just Space Ninjas Anymore(My Opinion)

i think saying that warframe is a space ninja game is not really going to work anymore. Well for me anyways, because I think warframe is more of like a game where you get to be in a group of organized bounty hunters. If you think about it, it makes sense. The lotus is like the head of the of the organization and the tenno are like her servants, the lotus gives us a mission, we do it and she gives us our bounty after finishing it. Another thing i just wanted to say is if we only get to be space ninjas, the weapons and missions that are going to be created are going to be limited, but if we get to be bounty hunters the weapons and missions we can create are going to be more open and almost unlimited.

thats just what i think the game is, i would like to read what warframe is like for you.

Real ninja took on all kinds of tasks for money.

Besides what this gentletenno said^

You are playing a game where you are thousands of years in the future. How can you say that the term "ninja" still means everything it did back then?

A engineer could do completely different things in the future. You see it yourself. Engineers like the corpus are also trained in combat.... So we are very well Ninjas.

We are ninjas - bounty hunters - mercenaries - soldiers all in one and we must serve our future. If the stealthy play improving then we can also play like traditional ninjas.

Some ninja were mercenaries too. I don't know if I'd call them bounty hunters... but people would hire them and they would be paid to kill. Some would be hired as bodyguards too.

"Traditional ninja" were many things, utilizing any tactics and weapons necessary for the job at hand. NInjutsu is about survival and unconventional warfare. There is stealth, obviously, but there is much more than that.

Even something like Vauban, which I initially took to be a very non-ninja warframe, can be seen as quite ninja-like in the right context.

Think about it: Slipping between Grineer patrols, a Vauban stealthily drops some Teslas against a door, hiding behind a pillar. A lone Lancer wanders through, bored and uncaring, and never notices the glowing globes of death hidden behind the arch he steps under. All the Tenno hears is a blast of electricity, a muffled cry and the thump of a body hitting the floor. And then he is off once again to complete his mission, with the only sign of his passing being a few scorched corpses. . .

"Nin ja" just means "patient person"

Explain to me how our culture of running right down the middle of hordes of enemies means "patient person".

"Ninja" is a poor term to describe the Tenno. Ninja's were thuggish in their later years, but they were originally, and mostly, spies.

While we certainly have ninja taglines and very certan ninja activities, it's only called this way because of the ease of naming. The action performed by ninjas are just as common with the CIA, KGB, the Brute Squad, superhero factions, and so on.

We actually fit a huge variety of names, from viking to knight to shinobi, and each can easily apply. And, given the diversity of the styles of characters (You cannot tell me that Rhino is a ninja), there is no one name that properly fits, except Tenno.

military engineers in real life, in modern times... like right now... already do that...

that is easy... because if you want to go ninja in a mission you have to be EXTREMELY patient and prevent enemies from sounding the alarm, and killing enemies stealthy like requires skill to do that to a whole mission and never set an alarm.

A ninja I do not feel like. I imagine stealth and surprise, clingy to ceilings and the likes. Not, Run in there like a hulking Orc to smash everything with an oversized hammer.

I was under the impression that ninjas weren't stealthy so much as unpredictable. They killed using poison darts, arson, gureilla style ambushes, traps, etc.

See, this is what I'm talking about. From what I've heard about ninjas, they were "assassins" in that they were experts in the martial art of improvised weapons, traps, and backstabbing.
