Ss3trnks2
They are basically a better max ammo mod as they give you more pickups. For weapons that follow the rule "ammo is not supposed to stay in the gun" its an upgrade. For me, more Boar love :) This, the new mods pretty much rendered all of the old max ammo mods useless, since you can pretty much keep any ammo hungry weapon under control now. I really like the fact that the mods are only active when you have the weapon out as it would be rather annoying if your pistol conversion mod was active while your rifle was out, so good call there DE :P Max them out. It becomes 5/10 per drop That is the typical drop, but i've also occasionally seen pickups of +14 for my level 2 rifle conversion. I wonder what it'll be like when i finish it's upgrade :/ But for now these are great for any weapon that you just want to indefinently spam, and will be freaking awesome in void missions to help cope with high ammo usage due to their large health. Hayden11121
This will remove useless weapons entirely. Why Grakata when you can Gorgon? Why Bronco when you can Dual Viper? Having more ammo efficiency means longer term of current weapons, and that can be deadly.

Hayden11121
Ammo boxes did that a looong time ago. Not exactly. I used DV and would go through ammo boxes quick, but the misery of buying them after game, the pre game prep, it was all too much, so I ditched it. But now my Hikou can be spammed forever... Parinirvana
Go back and read what I said: if you care about maximizing your DPS you don't waste weapon energy on max ammo mods, given you have the same effect (actually better) with ammo packs. Same applies for these new ammo efficiency mods introduced today. Nobody is being over critical, they just aren't good mods, simple as that. I can see as an attempt to fix a broken ammo system, but it falls short. If these were aura like mods for a new 9th slot in each gun (even without the energy bonus), yes, certainly they would be a meaningful addition to the game. Regardless of polarizing or overcharging, you are better off spending your weapon slots with damage mods and carrying ammo packs. This game is easy as hell... Why do I even need to use ammo boxes to maximize damage? I rather have the slots for team heal

XandoCalrissian
They're a lifesaver when it comes to ammo-guzzlers like the Boltor and Gorgon, but pointless with more efficient weapons.

WordsAreEnough
Exactly! That's great if you're a shotgun or sniper. Not if you're a rifle or pistol! ...Unless you're the Lex/Valto/Seer/Ogris, but that's beside the point. The weapons that actually need ammo buffs are sacrificing module space and thus precious damage for exactly the same benefit that far more ammo efficient weapons have. Who does this!? I think you're misunderstanding the conversion. You get more ammo for the type of mod you have equipped (Pistol) but rarer ammo boxes (shotgun/sniper) provide more to that weapon type. It converts a sniper ammo box into 10 pistol rounds at max rank but only turns a rifle box into 5 rounds for your pistol.
Canyew
Any more input from anyone? I am sure its been a few hours people have more thoughts about the new mods.
RedDirtTrooper
I still think you are giving up weapon damage to manage ammo expenditure, which you can already manage with ammo boxes. The result is the same, you don't run out of ammo, but in the case of the mods, that ammo is less effective on every shot.
GratuitousLurking
Not giving them a spin yet, but can see the potential. While I personally wish there wasn't a flat 'max' per weapon type (so we wouldn't have 500 rounds on the Ogris for example...), even the best weapons run dry eventually. Considering you're usually flooded with ammo boxes in the average mission anyway, it's very easy to run out of pistol and special ammo very fast when using those weapons. Hell, Grakata runs out of rifle rounds fast, and as you're already using a buff mod for ammo max on it already, why not? ',' It's great for people who like to try out new combos is what I'm saying. I still think you are giving up weapon damage to manage ammo expenditure, which you can already manage with ammo boxes. The result is the same, you don't run out of ammo, but in the case of the mods, that ammo is less effective on every shot. The thing with ammo boxes, is you require a short time to unload them again. And unless you guys are using max'd out mods from Nightmare Mode, there's only really 6-7 mods that really give a buff to your attack power anyway. (Fire/Ice/Electic/AP/Damage/Multishot/FireRateorReload). Still leaves a slot to slot it in for stuff like Grakata. Cides, specific missions, you don't NEED all the damage types. Putting Electric on for Infested is just a waste of 11 slots.
RedDirtTrooper
I am using maxed out Nightmare mods though, and I just can't imagine giving up the extra DPS to save myself some clicking for ammo boxes. So, if you find yourself regularly using ammo mods, then the new ones are probably a pretty good replacement.

The mods are better than the existing ammo capacity mods, however they come with the same exact damage trade off so there's no reason to use them. Would have been much better off if they were either auras or warframe mods.
Sixty5
Nice addition IMO. I'll prolly use them on my Supra, when I get it. Big ammo just got bigger. Left mouse + hold tactics have gained even more power.

GetAtMeMods
When DE answered the armor affecting shield fiasco, they said they didnt like duplicate mods. The ammo "conversion" mod is a 100x better ammo max mod. I dont like it.
ROSING
IMO I think they should make the max level of these mods give the same amount as the normal; for example, for the pistol mod, shotgun and sniper should give 20 just like regular pistol boxes do. bro-dog
honestly the worst part about them is how it implies, at least to me, that they might think the S#&$ty and pointless ammo system is fine as it is and that it's here to stay real mod description: sacrifice a slot and 7 points in order to avoid the annoyance of buying and equipping ammo boxes in the terrible market/equipment interfaces Edited July 30, 2013 by bro-dog

The weapons that actually need ammo buffs are sacrificing module space and thus precious damage for exactly the same benefit that far more ammo efficient weapons have. Who does this!? Uh, if you have a Pistol or a Rifle... you will see hundreds of boxes laying around that will feed your gun that you would have normally left laying on the ground otherwise. Pistol/Rifle Boxes give less ammo because there are simply more of them. Pistol Boxes are especially numerous (it is why Despair/Hikou/Kunai are such damn good weapons, they NEVER run out of ammo no matter how many you throw). Rifle Boxes are pretty common too. That aside, I'm with the other people who are saying that these mods are more for fast-fire weapons that do low damage per bullet. Vipers, Gorgon, Braton, Boar, etc. Latron, Hek, SVandal, etc are going "useless..." because they never come close to running out of ammo in the first place. Bow Mods are good; bows cap at very low ammo. You COULD put an Ammo Max Mod on that bow. Or... instead of a measly +24 ammo max, you COULD make it so that every box you pick up gives you 5 or 10 ammo. The 2nd locker you open would easily pay for that Ammo Max mod. Oh, and Mutator is 2 points cheaper than Magazine Warp too. Actually, now that I think about it......I'm probably going to get Rifle Mutator maxed ASAP and stick that baby in my Braton. I think it has a Magazine Warp in it now, because of my tendency to nearly run out of ammo anytime I'm doing anything higher level. With the ability to pick up all of those "worthless" shotgun and sniper boxes at +10 each... and the fact I'll save myself 2 capacity points.... uh yeah. lol. ComCray
swapped out my speed trigger for the ammo conversion mod on my Gorgon and totally happy with it. - I hardly ever get to spin up the gorgon to full speed anyway, the lower speed made it more accurate, so an unexpected win - Ammo shortage? What ammo shortage? I cannot fire the weapon enough to even get close to half my ammo now.. Conclusion: it's a keeper!!!
