Mission challenges not updating when I'm the client (PS4)

When I play solo, all of the challenges (rifleman, treasure hunter, hacker, etc.) unlock just fine. But when I join someone else's party, several of them stop working. Hacker and treasure hunter never update no matter how many consoles I hack or mods I collect. Rifleman works the majority of the time but once or twice I had none of my rifle kills credited. I have not tried being the host with someone else joining me to see if I still have the problem. I've only been playing the game for a few months (since....August?) and this problem has been occurring the entire time.

I dont remember the last time i did any of these challenges. The exp gain is so little that i get more exp playing the game for 30 seconds on the first mission.
