It's a great addition, but you gotta make it worth it, otherwise the normal alerts will continue to be useless...no offense....

I kind of agree with you here. Without sounding too greedy, perhaps a bundle of rare material (5-10) as a resource alert reward would make it pretty neat.

yeah they should have been honorable and avoided picking up any crafting material drops

 

Didn't suggest anybody avoid picking up drops, but if you mean to suggest that there weren't a great number of people spending those days farming the hell out of control modules, neurodes, orokin cells, and morphics, then I think you're deluding yourself. 

 

Regardless of intention or fault, they cannot now balance with the expectation that everyone has hundreds of every rare material.

I have no issue with the reward being 1-3 of <insert rare material here> because the award of that material is a sure thing, not RNG crazyness where you run Hyena 15 times and still don't get the one Control Module you needed.

Could the quantity be greater? Sure, though now that this stuff is finally dropping in _any_ mission we run, even if at a very rare rate, that's not a huge concern anymore. It's certainly more available and it makes it worth looting levels again for the shot at 1-3 more per drop.

Don't take morphics as anything other than the test run case, and it seemed to work wonderfully.

What I'm surprised about is I didn't actually see this show up in any patch notes as live yet? Did I simply miss it in the list?

Theres nothing wrong with a single rare resource alert (or an alert with a low amount of uncommmon), they just need to show up sorta frequently. A guaranteed rare resource mission is great. 

 

What they can do is add in "rare" resource alerts that have a bundle of them.

Did any of you stop to think that maybe they based the drops around the market value?  You can buy 1 morphic, hence an alert gave one morphic.  You can buy one potato, you get one potato from an alert.  Etc. 

 

I wouldn't be surprised, if say for example, a Plastids alert gave 300.  Since you can buy that amount for plat.

 

Instead of telling DE to give you more drops of what you don't need, why don't you tell DE to actually FIX the drop rates of the resources you do need.  Specifically Plastids and Circuits.  It's no big secret that those two resources took a big hit once they were available for purchase on the market.

You guys seem to be missing the fact that, while yes, this is an RNG system, if it does indeed pop up that's one GUARANTEED rare resource. It's better than going to a boss over and over again hoping to god that he may drop that resource for you. I think i'ts a neat idea.

A decent run on War to give Nef Anyo the goods produces more Morphics than I know what to do with usually. 1 of any rare resource save for Orokin Cells isn't going to be stirring my jimmies anytime soon...

i agree with the above quote.

 

i dont mind the single rare resource alerts if it means that they will be as frequent as credit alerts. (better yet, replace the credit alert all together) I doubt it will happen but nothing wrong with dreaming.

Alternatively make integral to alerts. 

For example a Credit alert on Earth will always reward at least 1 Neurode.

Why a Credit alert on Neptune / Europa will always reward at least 1 Control modules.

 

Stuff like that.
