Mak_Gohae
I didnt get to take pics the first time i encountered this because it was in a nightmare mode so there was a rush and i havent encountered that room since. Anyway, is that room with the two elevators on either side. It was adjusted so that the round pillars you could use to wall run are now square so you can no longer use them. They did make the exit/entrance platform in the middle section wider so you could now jump to the elevators to replace the wall running but that is no fun. Seriously, why was this taken out? Im asking this because that was the first room i actually used wall running intelligently. I remember going, "hmmm... i wonder if-OMG! AWESOME!" Then during a failed attempt i figured you could actually jump down to the lower section instead of using the elevators. I really sucks that stuff is slowly taken away with what looks to be little reason. PS- Yes, i already found the secret room in the lowest section. X3Evanescence
It is to make it more newbie friendly, i guess. Back to the dojo obstacle course...
Shion963
Really?! Man, if that's true I'll be sad. I loved wallrunning across the whole expanse instead of taking elevators up.
MECT_HET
No trouble to parkour in the dual elevetor room at all, just become a bit tricky - you should use jump-boost on any of these ex-cylinders and make your way right on the other side. By the way - didn't you know - you can now jump down one floor in these rooms without resetting position, even run over the bridge on shoot some foes from the low. I'm hiding in there if i wish to regen my shields. Edited July 30, 2013 by MECT0HET
Mak_Gohae
It is to make it more newbie friendly, i guess. Back to the dojo obstacle course... It cant be that. The Grineer room that was all wall running was changed because there was no other options but in this room there was another option. The wall running was just an addition to the normal path. And people that used that just cut the elevator waiting time for the people that use the normal path.
BioCharge
Pics please? I don't believe I have encountered it.
razoretti
I believe I know what's this thread about, but i can't see any differences and changes in room's architecture in a time span. If I we think of the same room.
Mak_Gohae
This is the room. Now that i actually got a good look at it it's not as bad but the dynamic of the room was changed. The pillar in the right is now squared which doesnt let you wall run toward the middle section or all the way to the other side. A closer look The inside face is still rounded and you can still wall run to the elevators but the middle entrance was widened and you could now easily jump from the center to the elevators so there is really no point in wall running there. The room went from possible wall running to just jumping from one side to the other. Edited July 31, 2013 by Mak_Gohae
Paradoxbomb
I could at least understand that one change to the Grineer tileset since wallrunning was mandatory there, but why change this room? It wasn't necessary to wallrun in hear and it was awesome to jump across the room like that. I guess it's an anti-rushing thing, shame.
BioCharge
Oh, hmm, I haven't seen the changed version yet in-game. I remember doing the wall running; made life so much easier.
A5PECT
A jump slide will take you from one side of the second story gap to the bridge if you aim for the widened part of the walkway at either end. Then you can wall run up the curved side of the pillar to cross the second half of the gap. Edited July 31, 2013 by A5PECT
Orthusaku
I really loved that Tile since it promoted wall running and jumping while still providing a slower path for new players or players who don't like doing ninja things.
SkyeAuroline
This is disappointing. This is the only tile where optional parkour moves were ever really worth it (aside from the parkour-mandatory Grineer tile). It better come back.
MECT_HET
It is to make it more newbie friendly, i guess. Back to the dojo obstacle course... Haven't an idea - how the hell could cutting the alternative routes make a map more newbie frienldy? It's become more cutted, more boring and annoying - 'cause forcing you to run all these elevators. But not more friendly.
Mak_Gohae
This doesnt involve wall running but this is another Corpus room that was changed. The lower entrance used to lead somewhere and now it's a dead end. This used to confuse folks for a couple of seconds but i dont think it was significant enough to change it. If that was the reason for the change.
Mak_Gohae
Oh, i forgot to post that the rooms were changed back to having the round pillars! Some one confirm this cause they seemed round during the Arid Fear event.
Xylia
I think they changed it because people were getting stuck in endless falls in that room. I had this happen to me. I tried to Parkour across to the other side like you describe in your OP but with the "new" (since like U8) wonky parkour controls, my character would not grab the wall whatsoever and fell. Only she barely touched an outcropping on the way down, teleported back up.......to the outcropping, then fell again......and again.......and again........and again..........and again. For 10 minutes until I finally managed to catch a ledge where a Loki used his Decoy and Switch Teleport to get me back up onto the bridge.
[DE]Mitch
I altered the bottom area because I thought people should be able to get down there. I'm assuming the original post was from when the straight pillars went all the way up to the ceiling. You could still wall run across, but because you had to hit the wall at a different angle; there was some confusion, so I made the top section the same as it was before. I hope that it's been patched and is working well?
