Lex prime build!

Question

Hello! I am currently a mr7 noob that is looking forward to properly mod my lex prime.  So, If I'm going to mod my lex prime, what is the most important part of modding the lex prime? Damage? Slash? Procs? Please help!

The damage bonus is okay. The proc is fairly useless.

Thanks!

Isn't puncture supposed to be good against armor?

Lex Prime has high crit and high status, so you can go either way. I prefer crit because it's such a slow-firing weapon that you can't stack procs. Plus it's mostly puncture damage, and puncture procs aren't (currently) all that good.

Lex Prime Armored:

Lex Prime Un-armored / CPx4:

The pics are technically Ak-Lex but the same builds are used for both weapons. The only difference is Ak-Lex makes better use of +%Mag Size and +%Reload Speed if you wanted better handling.

Puncture damage has a +50% damage bonus against Ferrite and +15% against Alloy however as enemy armor begins to scale this extra damage gets reduced heavily. Puncture also happens to double dip damage calculations for armor reduction resulting in the damage type ignoring either 50% or 15% of the enemy's armor value which gives it extra punch but unfortunately because of how high armor scales; this too is a fleeting bonus. You probably won't notice much until lvl 100+ enemies but that's why it ends up more productive to focus on Corrosive or Slash status effects as enemies continue to scale.

I have currently 4 builds, depending on application

5 Forma Required 4V and 2 dash polarity
(6 Forma Required on Aklex Prime, you can use the same build )

Hand Cannon "Hybrid Build" [Corrosive]

Traded the pure corrosive damage for increased status chance
so this is Crit + Status build.

*The Rapid Fire Crit build is more suited for Aklex Prime, which will require 6 forma as opposed to 5 forma
to handle all the mentioned builds. Since it has higher capacity meaning it is more suited for spamming.

It would be fine to use regular Pistol Gambit or Target Cracker instead of the primed ones,
Since multishot would still give a boost in crit chance, since if you have over 50% crit with regular Pistol Gambit
add that with 100% multishot and it will mean 1 of the 2 bullets will likely score a crit.

This can be applied until you are able to get your hands on the Primed mod... which baro will randomly bring in to sell.
Or while you are leveling the weapon, but there is just isn't enough points to fit all the mods at a given level before it is maxed.

It is recommended you put in a max lethal torrent to increase the fire rate, as you can pop quick shots
at a heavy target near point blank... that is when you need to fire fast to kill something.
With a 1 rank up Barrel Diffusion at 40% multishot would combine with a Max Lethal Torrent 60% to give 100% multishot
meaning you dispense 2 bullets instead of 1 that basically means +100% damage.

Seeker is present in all of the build, it can shoot through doors, crates, and enemies behind cover
as well as a row of 2 - 3  enemies being taken down by a single shot when they pile up in door ways and corridors

Having a powerful pistol that doesn't shoot through multiple enemies limits your kill potential.
Since you might have a weaker enemy standing between you and a heavier enemy,
you will need an additional shot to take out the weaker one before your next shot will land on the heavy enemy.

With punch through effect from seeker a single shot would have taken out the weak enemy, the heavier one, and
maybe any unlucky enemy standing right behind.
