philleapa
why would you try to shoot it in the legs? thats the weak spot on ancients or what used to be the weak spot, now not even sure if there is a hitbox near its leg
Endrance
thats the weak spot on ancients or what used to be the weak spot, now not even sure if there is a hitbox near its leg Dude, do you even play? The hitbox of the weak spot of the ancient was changed when the new texture/model came up... You guys are doing it the wrong way. For Toxic Ancient, hit those 2 orbs in the stomach area (they are bright green easy to spot) For Ancient Healer and Ancient Disrupter, hit the "small/weird arm", not the gigantic one, the small one Edited July 31, 2013 by Endrance

Stormandreas
no there isnt from the crotch down its like shooting the air There is. I've done it myself. Its just he isn't hitting because the legs, i agree are insanly thin. If they were any bigger though, it just wouldn't suit the model.

I just tested this. I was getting more damage per shot hitting the large arm that they use to do their stretch attack, their right arm, than the smaller left arm. Just like on the old models where it was their right arms that didn't have the damage resist. I also wasnt getting any extra damage from hitting them orbs in the toxics stomach as opposed to hitting any other part of their torso. Further, when I was able to hit their lower legs (where the hitbox is stupidly small) I still got more damage than a standard body shot. Their weakpoints haven't changed, so I would like to ask where you came across the information you posted.

This is the Ancient's body part list: Head Torso Right Upper Arm Right Lower Arm Left Upper Arm Left Lower Arm Right Upper Leg Right Lower Leg Left Upper Leg Left Lower Leg This is the Ancient's protected body part list: Head Torso Right Upper Arm Left Upper Arm Right Upper Leg Left Upper Leg The weak spots are the ones that aren't in the 2nd list. That'd be all the lower limbs. If it doesn't match testing then it's hitbox wonkiness. Edited July 31, 2013 by Kyte
Numot
Doesn't explain why face shots into the tentacle mouth seem to work well for me. Then again it is possible to armor over weak points. Edit: Took Flux rifle to ancients and shot at legs, nothing, it is indeed like hitting air. Edited August 1, 2013 by Numot
Inofor
Yes! The legs need some hitboxes. My sonar made a weak spot on an ancient's toe a few times so far and I couldn't hit it because the lower legs don't have hitboxes.

Deadly-Bagel
if u hold your breath while reading your doing it wrong, breath normally man normally. He was referring to the entire paragraph being a single sentence. Anyway, I've been having success with shooting them in the face, but having said that, Ancient's heads have always been a weak spot only for armour piercing. I don't think it made a great deal of difference to much else, and since I always have AP mods on all my gear, yeah.
Tomyhunter
Hey, I know, I have split chambered supra and I sprayed his legs .... not a single number and his health was full but my 90 round cip was gone ..... Toom1275
My main problem is trying to hit ancients with the hikou. If I attack them from above or from the side (they do like to look somewhere else while I'm attacking them >.>) They reel so far back from the attack that half of my stars end up missing, as most of the ancient's body that I'm trying to hit is now not where it was when I threw the star.
