Does Anyone Use The New Ammo Mutation Mods?

I tried it on a Boltor with Speed Trigger, and still ran dry pretty fast.  I think all the extra pickups I grabbed in one level totaled maybe one extra clip.  I imagine if I maxed it out I'd see better results, but I still can't see this being all that useful on a weapon that really chews through ammo like the Grakata or something.  I think I'd be better off going with Ammo Drum and using ammo refill items.

 

Then again it could be nice on an ammo efficient weapon with less common pickups, like snipers and bows.  But still, one ammo box is usually enough to get my Vandaltron through any mission other than high wave defense.

I rather bring ammo boxes and have an extra damage mod on my gun.

If you max it out, you get 10 rounds from shotgun and sniper ammo, and 5 rounds from Handgun provided your handgun ammo is maxed. I run it on my heavily modded Dera and never have to switch. It really is a flat replacement to ammo drum for assault rifles. 20 pickups and you've already gotten all the extra ammo you would have started with from ammo drum.

I use it on my Boltor and my Vasto, and as long as you're not throwing ammo out the window, then they do their job just fine.  It allows me to solo T2 void missions and not even have to use an ammo box if I'm accurate with my shots

I can safely answer yes to this.

It's not the best choice for all weapons all the time.

But it certainly has its uses for high ammo consumption weapons on long\high end missions.

If I have an unused mod slot, I bring it whenever I can. They're incredibly useful when maxed out and used on the appropriate weapon.

I uses it on my Supra, very helpful on wave/mobile defense. I don't like to use ammo boxes since it breaks the fun out of warframe mechanics, but that's just me

Flux Rifle loves it.

Braton Prime loves it

Dual Vipers love it.

Vandaltron love it.

Paris prime loves it.

Sobek loves it.

I actually wish I had more so that some of my other high consumption rifles could have it as the supra, braton prime and flux are all competing.

EDIT: I hate using ammo boxes as it reminds me how clumsy the UI is.

I have it on my Spectra, swapped out maxed Trick Mag for it. Now I can finish missions with a fully loaded gun, instead of running around for ammo every ten seconds.

 

Now I can focus on modding it for damage instead of ammo capacity.

But yeah. I've been running it on a flux rifle and spamming way more than I used to and I feel good about my ammo reserve. Before with the ammo drum I'd use my flux sparingly. I'm probably doing the same amount of kills. But this mod lets me be a little more trigger happy.

certain weapons mentioned above make very good use of it, not a useless mod as some would say. Ammo boxes, dont fix twin vipers

I tried this when the mods first came out, and it wasn't listed under my sentinel. Has this since changed? (Wiki states nothing)

For me it's perfect with the Sobek. Though due to how little ammo you get I don't think it really works with extremely ammo costly weapons like the vipers or bratons as it doesn't give good amount of ammo.

Yep, that's what I do with mine. I also use it on my Boltor on defense missions; only had it run out once, used an ammo box, didn't run out for the rest of the game. I say don't use one or the other, use them together if you can.
